This document describes characteristics of learners from early primary to beyond secondary school in technology education. It outlines that early primary learners are still developing fine motor skills and design simple products for their own use based on familiar environments. Middle primary learners work collaboratively on shared designs and judge their own and others' products. Upper primary and lower secondary learners consult others and research to inform their design ideas and create quality products to meet standards. Beyond secondary level, students analyze knowledge and data to meet design challenges innovatively and consider commercial potential.
