 Dispersed technology architectures (EMC, Dell, NetApp and Cisco...)
 Isolated resources for managing IT infrastructure
 3rd party resources needed
 Capacity was running out on some systems
 Vendor maintenance was running out on some systems
 Nutanix pilot project started October 2016
 Statistics: about 1700 virtual machines, 6 datacenters, more than 1PB
of data, about 500 applications.

(18 months of production)
 Initial purchase early 2017, planned for 1/3 of total capacity:
 Almost 2/3 of total capacity was fitted (2x performance)
 None of the expansions or upgrades required downtime (almost 100% uptime)
 A very quick migration (just 3 weeks), during July-August 2017.
 Expansion late 2017:
 All the 1700 virtual machines now run over Nutanix Platform, about 60% with
Metro clustering enabled for them.
 Next step is use to use Acropolis Block Services for un-virtualised resources
(merely Oracle databases).
 Zero downtime caused by IT operations

 4 whole racks with 6 rack units per datacenter
 Reduced power and cooling consumption with -80%
 Reduced external consulting days
 There is no extra, unused capacity in the system:

 All the new datacenter sites can be operated similarly by one team
