The document discusses the morphology and types of cells in culture. There are three main types of cells based on shape and appearance: fibroblast-like cells which are elongated and attach to substrates; epithelial-like cells which are polygonal and attach in discrete patches; and lymphoblast-like cells which are spherical and grow in suspension. Cells can also be categorized as either anchorage-dependent, which must attach to a solid substrate, or anchorage-independent, which can float freely in culture medium.
