Experiments
Jack Morton
Process
The tools I used to create my experiment are the pencil tool. I used the pencil
to create the moon, ghost, character, knife, blood effects, night sky and the
green hill. The reason I chose this method is because it was instant and
accurate. I started by colouring the sky and set the pencil tool to 50. I did this
because it saves time. I then set it back to 1 and selected white to make the
sky have beautiful stars. I then set the pencil tool to 50 again to create the
moon and I also did this in a white colour. I then did this with the character,
ghost, blood effects and knife with the pencil tool. Overall the reason I chose
this tool is because its better and more reliable than the other tools such as
the brush tool. The brush tool is unreliable and waste time as you have to
multiple click the mouse to get a bright and primary colour. This in turn will
waste time and therefore I will have less information/detail on my other slides.
I do believe I could better as I could made it into a animation, however we
have limited time on this.
I then used a template to create the green hill. I did this by copying the image
and pasting it. I then used the pencil tool over it on a other layer. I then
created the green hill in the background. I then used the pencil tool to create
the road which greatly slowed me down as it was annoying to count the pixels
between each road line. The tool I used to crop out the images that are
located on the bottom of the page was the lasso tool. To crop the image with
the lasso tool, I went around the image and got rid of the irreverent
background. I used this tool because it simple let me choose what parts I
didn’t need/want. This helped save time and patience by using the lasso tool. I
used this on the green hill and the character as a template.
Reflection
• What elements of your experiments will you include in your final product?
• Refer to the brief: Ghost Game
– I will include the same type of design E.G. pixel design. I will also include the
blood effects as this will bring horror and other genres to the game to attract
other gamers/customers. Therefore this will catch the eye of the customer. I
will also make my final product simple yet eye pleasing as the same as the
experiment. However I do think I should improve the the design to make it
even more pleasing to customers by making a better layout and better design.
I will include effects in my final product such as making the screen with a
difference in colours, to show between what's important and what's not. I will
do this because it will make the viewer feel as interested in the game as it
stand out than other dull games. I will also use Photoshop as it will be easier
and more understanding to other software.
– My plan will be the same except that I will be making a space invaders theme
than the ghost game I created in the experiment. I will then be making an
animation where in the experiment I did not.
