Working Title:
What is it called? This can change if you think of something better later
It is called Gruesome.
Product’s Purpose:
What is the product’s purpose (entertain/educate etc.) and how will you achieve this?
The purpose of the product will be to entertain through very funny moments with my poorly laid out
jokes
Genre:
What sort of product is it.
The product is a movie, for which I will be making the whole entire marketing campaign, including
merchandise, trailers and posters. It is meant to be a spoof- parody of a horror movie.
Content
What is your product about? Discuss what you would put in it (be specific). Does it have a story? If
so, discuss it here.
For the trailer, it shall be a ~15 second clip of a knife looking precariously set up to kill someone,
and the character is oblivious to this, and after making a whole scene and looking dangerous and
stuff but then the movie details roll and its it is in comic sans to relieve tension and throw away the
scene, instead of these other things happening such as a knife hanging from a table and a puddle.
The posters will include some feature from the trailer as a consistent feature to tie it all in for the
audience.
Research & Planning
Where will you use elements of your research and planning to influence and inform your final idea
(be specific to certain parts)
In the research, I found that people prefer to see a visual joke, rather than an audio or spoken
joke. This means that the comedy in the trailer is going to exclusively for those who are fully
sighted. The initial plans differ greatly from what the product is likely to be, as the original plan was
very vague and could not be built upon easily with multiple products.
Audience:
Who is your audience? Be very detailed; age, gender, social status, psychographic etc
Why would your project appeal to this person?
The sort of person most likely to see and enjoy the product is an individual between 16 and 19.
Males are targeted; who are more likely unemployed and it would appeal to them because comedy
is the only happiness they find in anything. Socially conscious Type B is likely the type of person to
target, with
Legal & Ethical Considerations:
Think about any offensive material you will include? The part of the posters that may be found
offensive is saying “don’t be silly” when mentioning the Grim Reaper. A small group of (likely)
Satanists could possibly be offended by this, not causing widespread offence to comply with ASA
code 4.2. The trailer will show a knife, which may offend knife crime victims.
Will you restrict younger people using/accessing it? No, there will be no gore in the trailer,
merchandise or posters.
Will it offend any social groups/religions/ethnicities? Satanists probably wouldn’t like me calling the
grim reaper silly, however this is a very small group of people
How will you ensure you do not offend anyone? These posters should be distributed in parts of the
world where this religion is not so prevalent.
Are you using characters/names/logos of existing products/IPs? Nope.
Will you product be sufficiently different from existing products to not get sued for copyright
infringement? Yes, there will be no similarities between them.
