Solar Heating &Drying Shed.
Solar Heating and Drying Shed.
This solar house is used to heat and dry excreta at a temperature more than
100 dg.centigrade and all the pathogens are killed at a temperature around 50
deg.cent.
The shed is provided with exhaust fans for speedy drying.
The excreta is kept in this shed for a week and after complete sanitization, it is
used for wormi-composting or added in the fields as soil conditioner.
Solar Toilets.
Salient Features:
These toilets have solar heated chamber at the back which should face south side
to catch maximum solar radiation.
The chamber has acrylic sheet top or metal cover to absorb maximum heat.
The chamber has rotating steel ring on which Four plastic containers are fitted.
Each container contains excreta for one month and by the time it completes one
rotation the excreta is there for three months and in this time it becomes totally
pathogen free and safe for handling and returns as soil conditioner to the soil.
Composting Toilets.
Salient Features:
These toilets have two holes on the seat for discharge of excreta. When one
compartment is full the use of other hole is commenced, and contents of first
compartment are allowed to digest and get converted in to good quality manure in a
span of around three months. This toilet reduces the use of water, Urine is
separately collected and used as good fertilizer. The excreta become pathogen free
with heating, drying and later on it is converted to organic compost along with solid
biodegradable kitchen waste.
Multistory Mecanised Solar Toilets.
Salient Features:
These toilets are designed for urban areas where space is limited. The toilets are
suitable for slum areas and the roof slab is used for solar chamber by
constructing glass/acrylic covered shed. The excreta is conveyed to the solar
chamber by material lifts, get heated and dried with the help of exhaust fans and
later it is converted to fine powder and into fuel briquettes to be sold to poor
families. The grey water is treated separately and led to municipal drains. Thus
the toilets use minimum amount of water, use solar heat for sanitization of excreta
and produce good quality fuel briquettes promoting health and environment.
Solar Heated Waste Containers
Salient Features:
m.s. drums of 200 lit capacity are used to fabricate these containers.
They have m. s. perforated mesh at top for ventilation and acrylic cover which
absorbs solar heat and reduces the volume of waste by 80 to 90%.
This results in less transportation cost for Municipal Authorities and
corresponding reduction in overall carbon footprint.
Community Toilet.
Salient features :
This community toilet is designed for tourist place, religious place, village,
garden rest room, highway restaurant or any other place where people
assemble. It has separate space for gents and ladies.
Space is provided for suitable advertisement on the front and side wall so
that revenue can be generated to take care of the maintenance cost.
The excreta is treated in solar chamber at the back of the toilet and used
water and urine is led to the soak pit where it is dried due to solar heat and
wind.
Solar Heated Toilet.
Salient Features.
•Solar Heated chamber at the back side heats and dries excreta and sanitize it.
•Minimum use of water, good ventilation, urine separation and easy to construct.
•Dried excreta and solid waste will be converted in wormi compost for use in
agriculture.
•An asset to family for improving the health, increasing the food production and
adding to the family income and also helping to clean and green the environment.
Toilets suitable for old and
physically handicapped people.
These toilets have got plinth height of only 150 mm(6 inches) and having
Commode type seat, hence are very suitable for old people and physically
Handicapped people. They generate good organic compost and constant
Income to the promoters.
Pre Fab Urinals
The urinal block is pre fabricated with steel hollow tubes and ready to use
within short time. They are suitable for schools, colleges, religious places
etc. The urine is collected in a plastic tank and can be sold to nearby
Farmers. The project will generate constant income to the promoters.
Mobile Toilets.
Considering the unavailability of space in Cities and Towns these
Mobile Toilets will go a long way in providing sanitation facilities in crowded
areas, markets etc. Unemployed youths can generate income by providing
Toilet facilities in cities, slum areas, markets, bus and railway stations etc.

Sanitation schemes for
community.
The main issue in providing community toilets is participation by the
users and operation and maintenance of the facility after they start
using it. A joint mechanism will have to be evolved to keep the facility in
running and healthy condition through generating revenue by selling the
manure to nearby farmers for the upkeep of the facility.
