NIFT Library Office

 5S is a LEAN tool that is used to organize a work
space for efficiency and effectiveness by identifying
and storing the items used, maintaining the area and
items, and sustaining the new order.
 5S was developed in Japan and was identified as one
of the techniques that enabled Just-In-Time
manufacturing.

 Seiso - Shine
 Seiketsu - Standardise
 Shitsuke - Sustain
Phases of 5S
 In the NIFT Library Office, we are focusing on the
workplace, working area and books keeping area.
 We have observed the current situation and the need
of 5 S implementation in the NIFT Library Office.
 We went through all phases of 5S accordingly.
 We implemented necessary changes and some are
suggested.

 After implementation of above four phases of 5S the
last phase is to sustain the above four phases.
 We inform and suggest the concern authority to
follow and maintain the changes that we made.
 The changes and standardisation are followed strictly
by the library staffs and authorities.
