This document outlines an agenda for a 6-hour training session on using video in education. The session will begin with an icebreaker video, then discuss the essential question of whether students need video for successful learning. It will provide an overview of how media literacy fits into K-12 curricula and how digital natives vs. digital immigrants experience media. The session will demonstrate the Safari video platform, address issues of technology access and configuration, and give teachers a quick tour. Time is allotted for teacher practice and support contacts are provided. The goals of the session are to thoughtfully and strategically use video to maximize learning and empower students to upload their own videos.
