- 2. Process I started off as simple of a background as i could get, with the barebones needed. just space and earth in the background, this is so that i can have as much influence on the photo as possible and it helps me to shape it into whats needed. the earth would need to be brightened as it doesnt have the futuristic, bright neon glow thats needed to help it stand out, this will also help with the contrast to the white spaceman i am planning on adding in later with a moon covering the bottom quarter of the image. i want to keep the visuals as detailed yet simplistic as possible to keep it eyecatching but having a relaxed and proffessional tone to it. i always want o implement minimal writing into my cover, only using my title so the cover doesnt look clustered and too busy.

Process • after implementing the moon into my shot, it helps ground the cover more due to its blander colour but it also contrast too much with the black and blue of the background, changing the tne of the moon will help with this contrast by making it brighter and a more tonal brown, making it stick out even more and to make the spaceman pop more. cutting out the spaceman from the background was a challenge as the background of that image was slightly still on the cut out spaceman so i had to slowly erase the mall outline so it smoothened out on the moon layer and looked as proffessional as possible. the 3 layers are now looking clean and fit eachother, when i add my title it will have to have aunique font that is sleek but also standout so it fits with the tone, but this will be difficult as most fonts look tacky if they dont fit with the theme and background well.

Process • after adding the futuristic and smooth title, it helps round off the whole cover and solidifies its tone, downloading the custom font made it seem more unique also, not being a highly recognisable font style which adds a level of proffessionalism. i also added an outerglow to add a neon effect but it also draws in the viewers attention, since the earth in the background is the centre of the magazine cover so it is typically the focus of attention. also adding shadows behind the spaceman helps add realism and detail to the cover to help it seem realistic, making the futuristic aspect every more impactful, helping it relate to their life more.
- 5. Process • my double page spread will have the same effect wanted as the cover, creating a futuristic setting but adding an aspect of everyday life, bridging the gap between future and present. i decided to use the blade runner city as i feel like it did a really good job of showing a futuristic eutopia while also making it seem grounded and having a lived in world, not just a sci-fi city that seems incredibly far fetched. with this background i only want the towers themselves and a slight glow of the lights to come through, to allow the shoe to be centre and have all the attention while the bakground is almost an “aura” around the shoe, only adding to that futuristic tone.
- 6. Process • adding the nike adapt bb was a great idea as it matched the backgrounds colour scheme perfectly when the shoe is darkened just a slight bit. This helps blend it all together, creating just 1 singular image and not appear to be mulitple images just pressed together. after doing this, i decided to remove the charging pad from the shoe so it look sleeker on the background but this background around the shoe before being cut, left a small outline like the spaceman and was incedibly difficult to remove and took a long time to do but it made the shoe look even smoother and sleeker so made the image look alot more proffessional than before.
