  an opening sequence
      Genre – Horror

Piranha 3DD
An establishing shot is used to make
the viewers know where the scene is
set. The lighting of this shot is high key
lighting and we can tell this from the
sunrays that glimmer across the water.
The colours used are bright so using
these colours will make objects stand
out more clearly to the viewer.

An extreme long shot is used to show
us this part of the sequence as to
show us that something bad has
happened. We see the water has
gone a faded red colour and we also
see dead bodies and this indicated
some clue into maybe that there is
something in the water that is killing
whatever goes in. Also we can see
people saving themselves by jumping
on nearby boats for protection.
A long shot is used to clarify to the
                                         viewers that the beach where
                                         everyone partied, has now become
dead and unused. The colours used
are dull and dark and this creates
effect and tension as we start to
think about what has happened to
                                         make the beach like this.

A medium close up is used to get this
shot. We can tell whatever the subject
is that we are following, that we are
under water from the bubbles. Dark
colours are used for the outer of the
frame to make a lot of suspense and
tension as to what may be around the
subject. The blue colour is used to
make us think about maybe that the
subject is maybe getting free into
open water perhaps.
An establishing long shot is used to
show us where the setting is now. Dark,
mysterious colours are used to make us
feel suspense and tension and edgy as
to what is out in the water. The lighting
is very low key and this could suggest
that we are at night time. The whole
image is quite mysterious and creepy-
                                           like also.

A close up is used to show these, what
look like eggs, in the water. The torch
light in the background make them stand
out and this could be used to show how
these eggs are something to look out for
as they could be dangerous. Once again,
we see dark and dull colours around the
eggs so this could show that these could
possibly be dangerous and something
not to be in touch with or mess with.
This shot we see here is a medium long
shot. It shows us an explosion occurring
                                      which could suggest that something
terrible has happened in the water that
could have something to do with what
could be, something under the water. The
colours used are extremely bright and
these are used to show how this explosion
is the main attraction and using a black
background can help it stand out more.

Although it’s quite blurry as it’s
underwater, we can see a medium
close up of many piranha’s looking
ready to attack whatever is in the
water, in this case, two men. The
colours are dark using red and grey
to create a dangerous and edgy
atmosphere and we know that
they’re ready to attack from their
angry looking face and sharp teeth.
We see a shallow focus as we can clearly see the head of a piranha that
looks as if it’s head has been bitten off as we can see no body. Behind,
we see a man who looks as if he is being dragged into the water by
maybe, some others piranha's that are with this piranha as maybe this
piranha is too small to attack a large object. The eye of the piranha is
looking directly into the camera and this could have been used to make
the audience feel uncomfortable as to seem as if the piranha is looking at
you. It’s open mouth could show how although it has no body, it’s still
wanting to attack with it’s sharp teeth.
