Babushka Lady
The Babushka Lady is an unknown woman present during the 1963 assassination
of President John F. Kennedy who might have photographed the events that
occurred in Dallas's Dealey Plaza at the time President John F. Kennedy was shot.
Her nickname arose from the headscarf she wore, which was similar to scarves
worn by elderly Russian women
The Babushka Lady was seen to be holding a camera by eyewitnesses and was also
seen in film accounts of the assassination. She was observed standing on the grass
between Elm and Main streets and is visible in the Zapruder film as well as in the
films of Orville Nix, Marie Muchmore, and Mark Bell (44 minutes and 47 seconds
into the Bell film: even though the shooting had already taken place and most of
her surrounding witnesses took cover, she can be seen still standing with the
camera at her face). After the shooting, she crossed Elm Street and joined the
crowd that went up the grassy knoll. She is last seen in photographs walking east
on Elm Street. Neither she, nor the film she may have taken, have ever been
positively identified; no known photograph with her in frame captured her face
because in all cases she was either facing away from the camera, or (as in the case
of the Zapruder film) had her face obscured by her own camera.

- 2. The Hessdalen lights are of unknown origin. They appear both by day and by night, and seem to float through and above the valley. They are usually bright white, yellow or red and can appear above and below the horizon. The duration of the phenomenon may be a few seconds to well over an hour. Sometimes the lights move with enormous speed; at other times they seem to sway slowly back and forth. On yet other occasions, they hover in mid‑air. Unusual lights have been reported in the region since at least the 1930s. Especially high activity occurred between December 1981 and mid-1984, during which the lights were being observed 15–20 times per week, attracting many overnight tourists who arrived in for a sighting.As of 2010, the number of observations has dwindled, with only 10 to 20 sightings made yearly. - 3. The monster was sighted by Robert Le Serrec and his family in 1964 when it moved towards his ship with its mouth open as if to attack. He spotted its tail was injured, probably by a ship's propeller or by a larger creature. He described that " It was only when we got to within 20 feet of the serpent that we could see its head clearly. The head was large, about 4 feet from top to bottom, with jaws about 4 feet wide. The lower jaw was flat like that of a sandfish. The skin was smooth but rather dull, brownish-black in color, the eyes seemed pale green, almost white. The skin looked more like that of a shark than an eel. There were no apparent scales. Nor did we see any parasites around. We supposed the flexible tail would have shaken any off. There were no fins or spines, nor were there any apparent breathing openings, although there must have been some. Perhaps we didn't see them because our attention was focused mainly on the creature's menacing mouth, the inside of which was whitish. The teeth appeared to be small. A fragment of some dark substance hung from the upper row of teeth, possibly a fish. As the monster was lying on the sandy bottom, we could not see the color of its belly. The creature was about 90 feet long. Behind the head the body was about 2 feet 4 inches thick and remained that way for about 25 feet, then it gradually tapered into a whip-like tail. The general color of the body was black with 1 foot- wide brownish rings every 5 feet, the first starting just behind the head. The skin was smooth but dull." Just as it seemed it would swallow the ship, it swam away. Le Serrec managed to take a few shots before it swam away, never to be seen again. 3/9

Solway Firth Spaceman On 23 May 1964, Jim Templeton, a firefighter from Carlisle, Cumberland (now part of Cumbria), took three photographs of his five-year-old daughter while on a day trip to Burgh Marsh. Templeton said the only other people on the marshes that day were a couple of old women sitting in a car at the far end of the marsh. In a letter to the Daily Mail in 2002, Templeton stated, "I took three pictures of my daughter Elizabeth in a similar pose – and was shocked when the middle picture came back from Kodak displaying what looks like a spaceman in the background." Templeton insists that he did not see the figure until after his photographs were developed, and analysts at Kodak confirmed that the photograph was genuine. S.S .Watertown Ghost 4/9
- 5. James Courtney and Michael Meehan, crew members of the S.S. Watertown, were cleaning a cargo tank of the oil tanker as it sailed toward the Panama Canal from New York City in December of 1924. Through a freak accident, the two men were overcome by gas fumes and killed. As was the custom of the time, the sailors were buried at sea. But this was not the last the remaining crew members were to see of their unfortunate shipmates.The next day, and for several days thereafter, the phantom-like faces of the sailors were seen in the water following the ship. This tale might be easy to dismiss as maritime legend if it weren’t for the photographic evidence. When the ship’s captain, Keith Tracy, reported the strange events to his employers, the Cities Service Company, they suggested he try to photograph the eerie faces – which he did. - 6. The Black Knight satellite legend starts with Nicola Tesla. It's said that he picked up a repeating radio signal in 1899, that he believed was coming from space, and said so publicly at a conference. In the 1920s, amateur HAM radio operators were able to receive this same signal. Next, scientists in Oslo, Norway experimenting with short wave transmissions into space in 1928, began picking up Long Delay Echoes (LDEs), a not fully understood phenomenon in which they received echoes several seconds after transmission. The apparent explanation finally came in 1954 when newspapers (including the St. Louis Post Dispatch and the San Francisco Examiner) reported an announcement from the US Air Force that two satellites were found to be orbiting the Earth, at a time when no nation yet had the ability to launch them. - 7. The story goes that sometime in the 1950s the Cooper family of Texas bought an old house and moved into it. On their first night there, the father took a photo of Mom and Grandma posing with the two kids at the dining room table. Everyone was happy and smiling. They were living the American dream. But when the photo was subsequently developed, they saw, to their horror, that what looked like a body falling or hanging from the ceiling had materialized behind them. - 8. This photo was taken by Apollo 17 near the Geophone Rock, during the last flight to the moon, and it was listed as a "blank" in the Apollo 17 photographic index. The photo certainly suffers from extreme light exposure and noise issues. But it's in fact not completely blank, as adjusting the contrast reveals pyramid-like structures.
