This document discusses the development of a computer program implementing a genetic programming-based hyper-heuristic (GPHH) designed to solve flow shop scheduling problems (FSSP) in the apparel industry, utilizing a combination of the Palmer and Gupta algorithms. Experimental results indicate that, although GPHH performs better than the individual algorithms, it still does not meet the benchmarks for larger problem instances. The study underlines the importance of scheduling in textile manufacturing and presents findings on the effectiveness of various parameters on GPHH performance.
