This document provides a literature review on the effect of web-based software tools for finding and sharing digital resources. It begins with an abstract that notes research has found a positive correlation between learning through online tools. The objective is to review the effect of web tools and list tools for sharing and finding digital resources using web 2.0 technologies. It then reviews concepts like web 2.0, 3.0 and x.0 and tools like blogs, social bookmarking, wikis and social networking. The findings note web 2.0 tools can be effective for learning by making the process more learner-centric and allowing users to create, share and collaborate beyond traditional classroom constraints.
