This paper presents a novel method for edge detection in complex Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) images, utilizing a combination of edge improvisation algorithms and region-based active contour models to enhance edge detection performance. It incorporates discrete wavelet transforms for edge enhancement prior to detection, addressing the challenges posed by speckle noise common in SAR images. The efficacy of the proposed method is demonstrated through testing on various images, yielding improved results compared to traditional techniques.
