A Number of Numbers
Dan 9:2
2) In the first year of his reign I Daniel
understood by books the number of the years,
whereof the word of the LORD came to
Jeremiah the prophet, that he would accomplish
seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem.
70years
the number of years of captivity in Babylon
(2Chr 36:21; Jer 25:11-12, 27:7, 29:10; Zech
7:5)
2Chr 36:21 To fulfil the word of the
LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the
land had enjoyed her sabbaths: for as long
as she lay desolate she kept sabbath, to fulfil
threescore and ten years.
Jer 25:11-12 11 And this whole land
shall be a desolation, and an astonishment;
and these nations shall serve the king of
Babylon seventy years. 12 And it shall
come to pass, when seventy years are
accomplished, that I will punish the king of
Babylon, and that nation, saith the LORD,
for their iniquity, and the land of the
Chaldeans, and will make it perpetual
desolations.
Jer 25:27 Therefore thou shalt say unto
them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the
God of Israel; Drink ye, and be drunken,
and spue, and fall, and rise no more,
because of the sword which I will send
among you.
Jer 25:29 For, lo, I begin to bring evil on
the city which is called by my name, and
should ye be utterly unpunished? Ye shall
not be unpunished: for I will call for a
sword upon all the inhabitants of the earth,
saith the LORD of hosts.
Zech 7:5 Speak unto all the people of the
land, and to the priests, saying, When ye
fasted and mourned in the fifth and seventh
month, even those seventy years, did ye at
all fast unto me, even to me?
Dan 9:24
24) Seventy weeks are determined upon thy
people and upon thy holy city, to finish the
transgression, and to make an end of sins, and
to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring
in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the
vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most
Holy.
7*70=490years
Dan 9:25-26
25) Know therefore and understand, that
from the going forth of the commandment
to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the
Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks,
and threescore and two weeks: the street
shall be built again, and the wall, even in
troublous times.
26) And after threescore and two weeks
shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself:
and the people of the prince that shall come
shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and
the end thereof shall be with a flood, and
unto the end of the war desolations are
determined.
7+3*20+2=69 (483years) then an
interruption before the final week.
Ezek 4:5-6
5) For I have laid upon thee the years of their
iniquity, according to the number of the days,
three hundred and ninety days: so shalt thou
bear the iniquity of the house of Israel.
6) And when thou hast accomplished them, lie
again on thy right side, and thou shalt bear the
iniquity of the house of Judah forty days: I
have appointed thee each day for a year.
390+40=430
The House of Israel
Ezek 4:4-5
4) Lie thou also upon thy left side, and lay
the iniquity of the house of Israel upon it:
according to the number of the days that
thou shalt lie upon it thou shalt bear their
iniquity.
5) For I have laid upon thee the years of
their iniquity, according to the number of
the days, three hundred and ninety days: so
shalt thou bear the iniquity of the house of
Israel.
This number of years will take us from
the establishment of idolatry in Israel by
Jeroboam, B.C. 975. "Beginning from 1 Ki
12:28 to Jer 52:30 at the finally desolated by
Nebuzar-adan, B.C. 584.
1Kgs 12:28 Whereupon the king took
counsel, and made two calves of gold, and
said unto them, It is too much for you to go
up to Jerusalem: behold thy gods, O Israel,
which brought thee up out of the land of
Egypt.
1Kgs 12:33 So he offered upon the altar
which he had made in Bethel the fifteenth
day of the eighth month, even in the month
which he had devised of his own heart; and
ordained a feast unto the children of Israel:
and he offered upon the altar, and burnt
incense.
Jer 52:30 In the three and twentieth year of
Nebuchadrezzar Nebuzaradan the captain of
the guard carried away captive of the Jews
seven hundred forty and five persons: all the
persons were four thousand and six
hundred.
The House of Judah
Ezek 4:6
6) And when thou hast accomplished them, lie
again on thy right side, and thou shalt bear the
iniquity of the house of Judah forty days: I have
appointed thee each day for a year.
"Beginning from 2 Ki 23:3, 23. (Jer 25:3)
2Kgs 23:3 And the king stood by a pillar,
and made a covenant before the LORD, to
walk after the LORD, and to keep his
commandments and his testimonies and his
statutes with all their heart and all their
soul, to perform the words of this covenant
that were written in this book. And all the
people stood to the covenant.
2Kgs 23:23 But in the eighteenth year of
king Josiah, wherein this passover was
holden to the LORD in Jerusalem.
2Kgs 23:26 Notwithstanding the LORD
turned not from the fierceness of his great
wrath, wherewith his anger was kindled
against Judah, because of all the
provocations that Manasseh had provoked
him withal. 21:11-13; 22:16-17; 24:2,4;
2Chr 36:16
Jer 25:3 From the thirteenth year of Josiah the
son of Amon king of Judah, even unto this day,
that is the three and twentieth year, the word of
the LORD hath come unto me, and I have
spoken unto you, rising early and speaking; but
ye have not hearkened.
Isa 39:5-8 5 Then said Isaiah to Hezekiah,
Hear the word of the LORD of hosts:
6 Behold, the days come, that all that is in
thine house, and that which thy fathers have
laid up in store until this day, shall be
carried to Babylon: nothing shall be left,
saith the LORD.
7 And of thy sons that shall issue from thee,
which thou shalt beget, shall they take
away; and they shall be eunuchs in the
palace of the king of Babylon.
8 Then said Hezekiah to Isaiah, Good is the
word of the LORD which thou hast spoken.
He said moreover, For there shall be peace
and truth in my days.
Josiah (31-13=18[3*6]) 18yrs
Jehoahaz 3mths
Jehoiakim 11yrs
Jehoiachin 3mths
Zedekiah 11yrs
40yrs (6mths)
Jer 52:30 In the three and twentieth year of
Nebuchadrezzar Nebuzaradan the captain of
the guard carried away captive of the Jews
seven hundred forty and five persons: all the
persons were four thousand and six
hundred.
2Kgs 23:26 Notwithstanding the LORD turned
not from the fierceness of his great wrath,
wherewith his anger was kindled against Judah,
because of all the provocations that
Manasseh had provoked him withal.
Ezek 6:6 In all your dwellingplaces the
cities shall be laid waste, and the high
places shall be desolate; that your altars
may be laid waste and made desolate, and
your idols may be broken and cease, and
your images may be cut down, and your
works may be abolished.
Ezek 6:4 And your altars shall be desolate,
and your images shall be broken: and I will
cast down your slain men before your idols.
Ezek 12:19 And say unto the people of the
land, Thus saith the Lord GOD of the
inhabitants of Jerusalem, and of the land of
Israel; They shall eat their bread with
carefulness, and drink their water with
astonishment, that her land may be desolate
from all that is therein, because of the
violence of all them that dwell therein.
Dan 9:17 Now therefore, O our God, hear
the prayer of thy servant, and his
supplications, and cause thy face to shine
upon thy sanctuary that is desolate, for the
Lord's sake.
Dan 9:27 And he shall confirm the
covenant with many for one week: and in
the midst of the week he shall cause the
sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for
the overspreading of abominations he shall
make it desolate, even until the
consummation, and that determined shall be
poured upon the desolate.
Dan 11:31 And arms shall stand on his
part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of
strength, and shall take away the daily
sacrifice, and they shall place the
abomination that maketh desolate.
Matt 24:15 When ye therefore shall
see the abomination of desolation,
spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand
in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let
him understand:)
2Thess 2:4 Who opposeth and exalteth
himself above all that is called God, or
that is worshipped; so that he as God
sitteth in the temple of God, shewing
himself that he is God.
2Chr 33:3-10 3 For he built again the
high places which Hezekiah his father had
broken down, and he reared up altars for
Baalim, and made groves, and worshipped
all the host of heaven, and served them.
4 Also he built altars in the house of the
LORD, whereof the LORD had said, In
Jerusalem shall my name be for ever.
5 And he built altars for all the host of
heaven in the two courts of the house of the
LORD.
6 And he caused his children to pass
through the fire in the valley of the son of
Hinnom: also he observed times, and used
enchantments, and used witchcraft, and
dealt with a familiar spirit, and with
wizards: he wrought much evil in the sight
of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.
7 And he set a carved image, the idol which
he had made, in the house of God, of which
God had said to David and to Solomon his
son, In this house, and in Jerusalem, which I
have chosen before all the tribes of Israel,
will I put my name for ever:
8 Neither will I any more remove the foot of
Israel from out of the land which I have
appointed for your fathers; so that they will
take heed to do all that I have commanded
them, according to the whole law and the
statutes and the ordinances by the hand of
Moses.
9 So Manasseh made Judah and the
inhabitants of Jerusalem to err, and to do
worse than the heathen, whom the LORD
had destroyed before the children of Israel.
10 And the LORD spake to Manasseh, and
to his people: but they would not hearken.
Ezek 4:6
6) And when thou hast accomplished them, lie
again on thy right side, and thou shalt bear the
iniquity of the house of Judah forty days: I
have appointed thee each day for a year.
To bear iniquity means to bear the
penalty of it.
The period of bearing iniquity,
therefore, does not refer to the time of
sinning but to the time of being
punished for sin.
Ezek 4:5-6
is number of years for each kingdom in the
divided kingdoms (each in tribute to a heathen
nation)
Dan 9:2

Dan 9:24
