- 2. Idea one: Centuries by Fall out boy – With this song there is a lot to work with on the aspects of ancient history and with becoming a hero in modern and ancient times. The song is all about remembered and how one mistake can make a whole lot of difference. My original idea is to have a female boxer and to document her life in such a physical sport. Throughout the chorus there will be shots of her during a match and I will slow down the shots. Then throughout the verses it will be her training to become the best and to be remembered for being a female boxer. – Another idea is using a musical inspiration and the song being about their success and the path through their on going career. You can gather a lot of shots of them backstage and on stage, as well as them going through interviews and going through the choreography training for their live performances.
- 3. Album idea The majority of Fall Out Boy’s albums don’t actually have an image of themselves on the front of their CD cover. Most of the CD covers actually have representation of the name of the album presented in the main image, for example the image on the far right is the cover of the most recent Fall Out Boy album ‘American beauty/American Psycho’. The main image is of a young boy with the American flag painted over half of his face. The same as the cover next to ‘American beauty/American Psycho’ is the cover for their album ‘Save Rock and Roll’ which has an image of two young boys in a war zone giving the impression that they are in a war zone. The rest of their albums are very memorable in the imagery that they use; like the album on the far left with the two bears, it’s simple but memorable. For my CD I think that I am going to use the band on the front of the album to promote the band to the audience and to make it more personal, but also try and use some of the imagery that they have used in their other albums to create a deeper meaning than just having a picture of the band.
- 4. On the back of the CD case I will have just a simple pattern not drawing the attention away from the names of the songs but to still add a bit of imagery to the CD cover. I think it will be an image of smoke drifting upwards as that is quite a trademark for Fall Out Boy . The font will be normal size and I am hoping to have 12 songs on the back of the album withy the additional music video added to the DVD that will be included in the album. I will put the title of the CD and the name of the band on the spine. The idea of getting the bands name and the name of the CD as much as can to sell it as much as possible. The text size will be smaller than the rest of the album but will still keep the same font throughout to create an image for the band. For the main image, I will either follow the convention of most Fall Out Boy album and use an image not off the band but of something relevant to the first released single; which makes it more eye catching and more unique or use an image of the band to introduce them to the audience in a way. I think that I will use an image of the band because I think using what they do with the links between images, it might be too complex plus it gives a warmer message with the band being on the front in my opinion. For the album I’m thinking of doing a greatest hits album and including all of their top selling albums. I chose this font for the title of the band I think that the font fits the band well on the genre that they are categorised in and is also bold enough to catch the audiences attention. It also has a sense of imagery making it memorable to the audience.
- 5. Digipak idea FRONT: on the front of the digipak I will have an image on of Fall Out Boy on the front. I think for the front of the digipak I will have an image of them live just to show them in a real life situation and not in a photo shoot set up. BACK: on the back of the I will have the songs included in the album and which member of the band wrote which songs and who else was included in the production of each song or any special mentions. On this panel of the digipak I will include different images from the previous tours that Fall Out Boy have been on; as it is a greatest hits album, as well as some behind the scenes images from the production of the album. On this panel of the digipak, there will be an introduction to the band Fall Out Boy in the sense of them being a band, what they are about and what they have achieved over the time of being a band. And on this panel I will have one on one introductions to the four band members, with individual paragraphs giving their name and some more interesting facts about them and how they got involved in the band. This is to introduce them as an individual not just a member. The design of my digipak will be on the front and back cover I will have a live photo of the band performing as the background with the font of the band name being the same as the on the front of the CD. Whereas for the three other sides I will use just a simple design like a starry sky or just a plain background, as I have looked at a couple of their other backgrounds used on some of their previous ones and they just use a simple background with nothing drawing the attention away from what it is actually saying.
- 6. This is the inside of Fall Out Boys’ CD for Infinity On High. For this CD they didn’t use any images of the band apart from the picture that is used to look like a painting of the back where the CD will go. This digipak is very plane and doesn’t really hold many bright colours which is a convention for many of their albums. The CD itself isn’t very colourful but fits the theme of the rest of the CD case, the CD has a pattern that looks like a shadow as well as the stars that are also on the front of the cover on the wall paper as wells as where the digipak is held. Following the familiar Fall Out Boy convention they don’t have any photos used on the cover of their CD or anywhere else throughout the CD. But they do have an image that is presented in the way to look like a painting, in the image they two members are looking in a mirror but the reflection that is looking back at them isn’t the same as who is looking in creating the meaning in the name of the title being ‘high’ and to create confusion amongst the audience. On the opposite side to where the CD goes there is a flap here the digipak goes slipped into the front. There is also the stars that are also on the front cover and on the CD this is a theme used throughout the CD case, this could be down to the album being called ‘Infinity On High’ and the stars representing the infinity part of the title.

They don’t normally put the leading single first, they normally leave it to the third or fourth song of the album. The average amount of songs to have on an album is around about twelve or thirteen unless it is the deluxe edition where you will have more songs and more special features like music videos that show up when you download from iTunes.
