- 4. 04 History The first issue of Runner was published in the spring of 2005. Instantly it became a benchmark for runners in Greece gaining thousands of fans and readers. RUNNER magazine provided a boost to the running boom in Greece. Moreover RUNNER magazine decisively contributed as a media sponsor in the raise of participants in Athens Authentic Marathon RUNNER used to and still operates as a way of training, informing, entertaining and as a growth pole of this market. Today RUNNER is close to the separate run- ning societies, closely observes the running growth and is an integral part of it.
