- 1. About / Rules A Brief History This Playoff Pool was inspired by my brother’s football buddies in Worcester who run a similar pool. We piloted our own version in 2011 and had approximately 20 teams enter the Playoff Pool. This year, in 2013, we have modernized our Playoff Pool by creating this website. How It Works There are 12 NFL teams in the 2013-2014 Playoffs. You will build a roster of 9 players whereby each of the 9 players are on 9 different NFL teams. For example, you cannot have Peyton Manning and Wes Welker on your Playoff Team due to the fact that they both play for the same NFL team. Roster Requirements The makeup of your roster is as follows: QB x 1 RB x 2 WR x 2 TE x 1 FLEX (RB or WR or TE) x 1 Defense x 1 Kicker x 1 The 9 players on your Playoff Team score points (see Scoring System). Whoever has the most points at the conclusion of the Playoff Pool wins. Once an NFL team is eliminated from the playoffs, any player you had on that team can no longer score points for you. However, if an NFL team advances in the playoffs, any player you have on that team will continue to accrue points for you. For example, let’s say you chose Andrew Luck of the IND Colts as your QB. If the Colts are eliminated in the first round of the playoffs, Luck will no longer score points in subsequent rounds of the tournament. However, if the Colts win, Luck will continue to earn you points in the following round of the playoffs. Fees You may enter as many teams as you would like in the Playoff Pool. Each entry costs $20.00 (see Make a Payment). All of the entry fees collected contribute 100 % directly to the prizes (see Prizes) and I do not profit from this at all. Important Dates
- 2. Entries must be submitted by Saturday, January 4, 2014, at 12:30 pm. The Playoff Pool will run through the Super Bowl, on February 2, 2014. At the conclusion of the Super Bowl, the winner of the Playoff Pool will be determined. Other This website will be update frequently throughout the playoffs so check back often for updates and to see where your team ranks among the others! Any entry that fails to meet the roster requirements shall be considered null and void.
