The FASB Codification System is a single online database that houses all financial accounting and reporting standards established by the FASB in accordance with GAAP. It was created to make standards easier to navigate and research in order to help preparers of financial statements comply with GAAP. The codification system organizes standards into nine main topics including presentation of financial statements, assets, liabilities, and revenues and expenses. It provides a consistent source for accounting guidance according to FASB standards.
