This document discusses a study on preparing titanium metal matrix composites reinforced with carbon nanotubes. Titanium alloys are attractive for aerospace applications due to their strength, toughness, and low density. The study focuses on preparing titanium composites with different carbon nanotube compositions to analyze their mechanical properties. Ball milling was used to mix the titanium powder and carbon nanotubes. The milling process was affected by the type of carbon nanotubes used, with multi-walled nanotubes dispersing more uniformly in the titanium matrix compared to single-walled and double-walled nanotubes. The composites produced will be analyzed for improvements in mechanical properties from the carbon nanotube reinforcement.
