- 6. ADDEND- Any of the numbers that are added together. 2+4 SUM OR TOTAL- The result of adding two more numbers. = 6
- 7. Example 1 The grade school students are planning to put up a school garden and plant seedling around the school grounds. For the project, the students were able to raise funds from selling recyclable materials in two months. They earned ₱ 2,275 on the first month and ₱ 3,104 on the second. How much did they earn in all?
- 8. To find the total amount earned by the students, you have to add the amounts earned in those two months. Follow these steps in adding numbers.
- 9. Step 1 Place the addends in a column. Make sure that digits having the same place value are aligned. ₱2,275 +3,104

- 11. Step 3 Continue adding the digits in each place value until all the digits have been added. ₱2,275 +3,104 5,379
