Integers are whole numbers that can be positive, negative, or zero. The rules for adding integers are: 1) If the signs are the same, add the numbers and keep the same sign. 2) If the signs are different, subtract the smaller number from the larger number and keep the sign of the larger number. 3) Some examples of integer addition problems worked out according to the rules are presented.
