Briefly about the guest speaker:
• NAME: NARENDAR SIR
: MEENAMBA MAM
• Meenamba: She worked as a high school teacher in a
public school in New York City. She has a master’s in
Biology. She loves to interact with kids and teenagers.
• Narendar Anand: He finished his MS in San Jose state
University, California in Micro electronics. He came
to ashram on 2011 and Working in Amrita Darshan
Department - Youth Empowerment Group
How to concentrate while we try to pray?
 We will be facing so many difficulties in our daily lives, and
we might be stressed out and we might not feel good. At that
time if we try to focus our mind on God or on the devotional
practices by chanting or singing Bajans our fo will be shifted.
 For example, while giving an injection the nurse might ask
you some questions to divert you and shift our focus and at
that time, she will inject the needle and we will not feel much
pain.
 In that way, when we pray to God, our mind will be shifted
and we will feel so peace and it helps to reduce our stress
and unwanted thoughts, with that mind we can go do our
work easily with focused mind.
1 It is not just about concentrating while we pray but we need to be concentrated the
whole day, because there would be no use if we are concentrating only while
praying.
Consciousness:
• It means staying in full awareness in every situation like while telling, you need
to talk with full awareness that, will my talk be beneficial or will it hurt someone
or not.
• Conscious means you need to be at the present moment, while we are playing, we
need to play with full presence and while we are studying we need to do it with
full focus.

how to practice being concentrated in daily life?
 Doing meditation
It not just doing by sitting in a closed room, but you can also meditate while waking, while waking you chant
maa…. ohm..., this will help you in improving your concentration.
 Doing exercise
 Doing Prayer
 While bathing you can feel as if we are making our favorite god bath.
These activities will improve our concentration levels.
People like AMMA have a high state of awareness and they have mastered their
emotions and they can change their mask of emotions according to the situations.
For ordinary people like us, it is difficult to control our emotions during stressful
situations but if we practice some activities in our daily life, we can control our
emotions.
Practices to control our emotions:
 Doing daily exercise:
Doing exercise will help in relieving our mind.
 Doing meditation:
Doing meditation keeps our mind in control and balancing our self.
We can do meditation not only during meditation but also while walking by
chanting (ma… om…) while walking.
How can we keep calm and peace of mind during stressful times?
Sometimes even if we control our emotions during stressful situations, we still
might have some feelings inside our heart, at that time we need to express it.
Otherwise, that emotions will keep on increasing in our heart and one day it will
burst out on some innocent.
So, we need to express our emotions in some or the other way.
For example:
 if you are feeling angry or if you are feeling depressed, you can do things
that you like for example listening to music, dancing etc. this helps you in
expressing your feelings and you will feel free.
 or you can close your room and you can hit the pillow until your anger is
gone.
when we express your feelings, we will be free, and it will not affect us. We will
be mentally free, and our mental health will be good.
How to make correct choices in life when you are not sure which option is
right and which one is wrong?
People like AMMA who attain higher state of consciousness they will
be aware of all past, present and future and they know what’s going to
happen and they can make right decisions.
But people like us won’t have that state of consciousness. So,
 We need to take help from our elders who are experienced, and
they will guide us to make right decision.
 If we practice meditation daily and if we pray to GOD or if we take
guidance from spiritual masters like AMMA, we will be tuned with
the GOD or our spiritual master and we will get an INTUTION of
thought on what to do.
WHAT IS INTUTION?
 Intuition is the ability of your mind to predict what might occur.
 Indian philosophy says that being intuitive is proof that a soul is more connected to a
higher power.
 Intuition is soul guidance, appearing naturally in man during those instants when his mind
is calm(due to regular meditation).
For example:
 Once when a Bhramachari was travelling in a bus and sat on the front
row of the bus, and he was getting some inner voice to go and sit at the
last rows. After some time, he followed his inner voice and sat on the last
rows of the bus and after some time the bus met with a major accident
and the people in the front seat were injured severely.
 This is how when we are tuned with the God or the spiritual practice, they
will give us the inner message. That inner voice is called as Intuition.
