This document provides an overview of the process for creating and managing adoption cases in the TFACTS system. Key points include:
1) An adoption case is created when a child's legal status is designated as DCS full guardianship and they are free for adoption. Case and child data is copied from the original case to the new adoption case.
2) Only designated adoption case creators can initiate the creation of new adoption cases.
3) Once created, an adoption case cannot be reversed or merged with another case. The child's membership in the original case is inactivated.
4) Adoption cases allow management of adoption preparation activities, recruitment efforts, and documentation until the adoption is finalized
