Under Muslim Law
 Adultery is a violation of the marital contract and one of the major sins
condemned by Allah in the Qur'an.
 "Do not go near to Zina” (Quran Chapter 17 Surah Isra verse 32)
 Allah and His Messenger (saws) have determined for this sin. One who
commits adultery the punishment is stoning to death, and for one who
commits fornication (Zina), the punishment is one hundred flogs!

 Eager to meet again

Reasons For Adultery
Loneliness:
Prefer to spend more time with friends and concentrate more on career than on
your loved one.
Communication barriers:
Poor communication invariably causes problems in a marriage or relationship.
Problems and arguments left unresolved can compound and fester when
partners are either unwilling or unable to discuss these with each other.
Lack of love and affection:
Lack of affection or love is one of the most common reasons for adultery.
People will look to others when these needs are not being met by their
spouse or partner.
A poor sexual relationship:
Boredom in the bedroom will often lead to one or even both partners going
off and seeking excitement and variety elsewhere.
Lack of intimacy:
Marriages need intimacy to survive. Without this in your marriage you may
well feel unloved, rejected and unwanted.
Other reasons:
Sexual addiction, availability of effective contraception, poverty, revenge,
anger, weak relation with God, internet porn, adult chat rooms, sexting and
Society is more tolerant of sexual behavior etc.
Consequences
General Consequences:
Breach of trust and of the commitment that had been made during the
act of marriage
Often results in divorce
Pregnancy
Adultery may lead to ostracization from certain religious or social
groups
Adultery can also lead to feelings of guilt and jealousy and depression
It also carries higher financial burdens
Sexually transmitted
infections
 somebody has sex outside marriage, there's every chance that an STD can
then be passed on to the spouse. genital herpes and AIDS
 Since most married couples do not routinely use barrier contraceptives
 STDs can be introduced to a marriage partner by a spouse engaging in
unprotected extramarital sex.
 The World Health Organization (WHO) found that women in violent
relations were at increased risk of HIV/AIDS.
Violence
 Historically, female adultery often resulted in extreme violence,
including murder (of the woman, her lover, or both, committed
by her husband). Today, domestic violence is outlawed in most
countries.
Honor killings
 Honor killings are often connected to accusations of adultery. Honor
killings continue to be practiced in some parts of the Pakistan
(mostly in backward areas )
 Honor killings enjoy considerable public support.
 Honor killings are treated leniently in some legal systems.
Crimes of passion
 Crimes of passion are often triggered by jealousy
 have a similar dynamic to honor killings
 women are killed by male family members
 crimes are perceived as excusable or understandable
Stoning
 an organized group throws stones at an individual until the person dies
 refers to a form of capital punishment
 or the condemned person is pushed from a platform set high enough above a
stone floor
 several people have been sentenced to death by stoning after being accused
of adultery in Pakistan by tribal courts
Flogging
 In some jurisdictions flogging is a punishment for adultery
 There are also incidents of extrajudicial floggings, ordered by
informal religious courts
 In 2011, a 14-year-old girl in Bangladesh died after being publicly
lashed, when she was accused of having an affair with a married
man.
 Her punishment was ordered by villagers under Sharia law
Violence between the partners
of an adulterous couple
 Married people who form relations with extramarital partners or people
who engage in relations with partners married to somebody else may be
subjected to violence in these relations
 Because of the nature of adultery, illegal in many societies
 this type of intimate partner violence may go underreported or may not be
prosecuted when it is reported
 in some jurisdictions this type of violence is not covered by the
specific domestic violence laws meant to protect persons in 'legitimate'
couples.
How to Overcome with
Adultery
 For reducing the communication barrier, the goal is to be kind. Be
allowing.
 For lack of love and affection, Be caring, loving, thankful and gifting
each other.
 Ways to be intimate, Share laughter. Share private code words and
signals like a hand gesture or an eyebrow flash that just have meaning to
the two of you. Cook together etc.
 For making strong sexual relationship, get clear about what your likes
and limits are - for both of you
