FUTURESCOPE
 The field of alarm and sensors is a very developed one. New
and improved types of alarms and sensors are always
coming into the market and the choice between the different
types seems quite difficult.
 An alarm system comprises of a main control box to which
various sensors are connected. When the sensors identify a
break-in they send out a signal to control box, which, in
turn, sounds the alarm or performs other predefined tasks.
 To design an advance security alarm system, which detects
the intruder
 The project design is intended to set the alarm for different
zones of the house
 Designing and building the burglar alarm system and testing
its functionality of the system to contain audible only
 Once siren is activated; it will trap the intruder
1. RESISTOR
 passive two-terminal electrical component
 acts to reduce current flow
 acts to lower voltage levels within circuits
2. LDR
 exhibits photoconductivity
 high resistance semiconductor
 applied in light-sensitive detector circuits
3. BATTERY
 consists of electrochemical cells
 converts chemical energy into electrical
energy
4. LED
 emits light when activated
 two-lead semiconductor p–n junction
diode
5. TRANSISTOR
 MOSFET Transistor with working
principle of N channel
 higher resistance, lower current variant
6. BUZZER
 audio signalling device.
 typically used in alarm systems.
7. RELAY
 an electrochemical device
 long life, high reliability
 can switch AC to DC easily
8. WEB CAM
 high quality capture
 high resolution
Wireless System
Hardwired System
Hybrid System

1. WIRELESS SYSTEM
 simplest to install and the most convenient
 perfect solution for installing a security system where running
wires is impractical.

2. HARDWIRED SYSTEM
 easy access in basements and attics
 adds a layer of security because the control panel cannot be
disabled by knocking a keypad off the wall

3. HYBRID SYSTEM
 incorporated with both hardwired and wireless features.
 control panel of the system is hardwired to the keypad which
contains a wireless receiver using radio frequency that will
receive wireless signals from the wireless sensors.
STEP 1:
The positive terminal of battery is connected to the buzzer that
is in parallel to a resistor and led.
STEP 2:
The buzzer is further connected to the transistor 2N7000 and
then to the LDR which is connected to the negative terminal of
the battery.
STEP 3:
The battery is connected to the circuit and a laser is reflected
on LDR. When an intruder enters, the buzzer starts buzzing
automatically.
 It offers more durability and longevity
 Less expensive than wireless systems
 Cables and detectors relays can be subjected to diagnostic
checks.
 Generic, and can connect to nearly any brand of alarm system
 Any attempt of theft will be recorded with built in camera
 Complicated installation, compared to wireless alarm system
 Majority of hardwired alarm systems are not suitable for DIY
 Drilling required at some points
 Limitation for detector types available
 Wires need to be connected from each sensor to the control
panel.

 Global home security manufacturer Ingersoll Rand says ~
“The industry will power ahead to over $2.5 billion in the next
couple of years - a massive 30 percent growth in the number of
houses with home automation systems. More importantly, as home
automation moves into the main stream, the technology powering it
will rapidly expand and improve in scope and application.”
