AIDF Career Opportunities: Client Strategy & Sponsorship Manager Main duties and responsibilities: Attracting international clients for sponsorship agreements and working with them on individual event strategies Building strong relationships with key decision makers and become their trusted adviser Managing your client accounts and help ensure fulfilment of agreed deliverables before, at and after the event Research and lead generation using social media and competitor information Meeting agreed KPI and revenue targets to contribute to the team’s growth Competitor mapping and understanding the unique positioning and selling points of AIDF Identifying and researching new growth areas Working closely with marketing, production and admin/operations The successful applicant will have: Interest in the development and humanitarian sector and desire to develop themselves as strategic business development adviser A minimum of 2-3 years sales experience gained in a business to business environment (sponsorship and conference sales highly desirable) Entrepreneurial can-do attitude and ability to thrive working in a target orientated environment Competency to research and source own leads and build profitable business relationships Excellent telephone etiquette and skill to lead detailed conversations with senior officials Proven ability to work well in a team but also initiative to work on your own Good sense for identifying business opportunities, new revenue streams and possibilities to sell across a whole portfolio Ability to international travels and confidence in face-to-face networking In return we offer: A competitive remuneration package with an uncapped commission structure Inspiring and motivational environment with a great team spirit Competitive and diverse sales culture including incentives, awards and recognition for achievers An exciting, rewarding and important sector: in the past year US$22bn were spent on international humanitarian response and further US$28.6bn on development assistance (Humanitarian Assistance Report 2014) “For us, this summit is a big success because we have made good contacts, giving us the potential to develop new systems and new research collaborations with local institutions. AIDF Career Opportunities: Student/ Volunteer Placement We are currently an enthusiastic volunteer who is looking to develop their research, copy writing and social media skills and gaining real world business experience. This placement will be for a maximum of 3 months. By shadowing our Head of Marketing you will gain experience in: Researching and writing short features and news stories around food & water security and disaster relief & resilience for our website www.aidforum.org. Creation of info graphics from topic generation, desktop research to creative design and marketing via social media and partners. Conducting interviews with humanitarian experts at NGOs, UN agencies, governments and the private sector on identified topics. Social Media engagement and promotions. Data and content management. Training and assistance will be provided throughout the placement. There will also be opportunities to attend events and take advantage of additional networking. Your profile: A passion for the humanitarian and development sector is important, while journalistic or marketing experience is not necessary. You will need excellent English language and good writing skills as well as an analytical mind and plenty of initiative and willingness to learn. The placement will take place at our central London office with a possibility to also work from home where appropriate.
