- 1. Profile Dr.Ashoke K. Maitra is the Founder & M. D of SRIIOM ( Sri Ramakrishna International Institute of Management ) a Continuing Education and Skill Development Institute committed to develop Leaders in the field of Training, Human Capital Management, Sales Leadership, Leadership , People Management ,NGO sector and Holistic Management. He is dedicated to provide innovative & practical skill building education to executives in the corporate world and to the NGO sector to build their knowledge, skills and behavior needed to succeed in the industry. Dr. Maitra has been a part of the Ramakrishna Mission movement to provide vocational education and is currently the Vice – President of the Ramakrishna Mission Sewashrama, Vrindawan , U.P and a patron of Ramakrishna Mission, Baranagore, West Bengal. In both Vrindawan and Baranagore , he has advised them to start Coaching Class for School Children, Informal education to the woman, expand the capacity of Nurses training, Start Wireman training for the telecommunication industry etc. The Vrindawan effort lately has been supported by the enlightened Tata Trust. He has also started the Ramakrishna Institute of Skill Education ( RISE ) to provide vocational and Industrial training to the poor youth living in urban and rural areas in Maharashtra ,India. SRIIOM has empanelled the most illustrious faculty from the academia and the industry who has more than 20 years’ experience, are dedicated to skill development, are highly qualified and are experts in their domain. Dr. Maitra has done his Masters Degree from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai - India and Ph.D from Stanford University, USA. He started his career in the Tata Group . He was entrusted to start Tata Share Registry Ltd by Mr. J.J.Bhabha at an young age and rose within 5 years to the level of General Manager – HR & Administration od Tata Press Ltd. He worked for 10 years with the Tata Group and then left to join NOCIL ( A Royal Dutch Shell company ) as Divisional Head of Organization Development and Human Resource Management for both Agrochemical and Petrochemical Business. He also managed the NOCIL-PIL merger and became the combined Head of HRD. In the year 1995 he joined Bennett, Coleman & Co. Ltd as Group Director –HRD and worked for 10 years till the year 2005.
- 2. During his tenure Bennett, Coleman & Co. Ltd grew from a Rs.300 crore company to Rs. 2500 crore company with a net profit of Rs.950 crores. Dr. Maitra is internationally known for transiting BCCL from a family managed business to a professionally managed company with collaboration with Citibank to start Times of Money, with BBC, Reuters etc. Dr. Maitra was conferred the “Willis Harman Award” by Stanford University and Word Business Academy for transforming Bennett Coleman & company Ltd from a family managed business to a thriving professional organization with collaboration with BBC, Citibank, Reuters etc. He was also instrumental in starting the “Teach India Campaign” which has more than 5 Lakhs voluntary teachers providing education to the poor children and youth in small centres across India , He also started and build the brand of Times Ascent, Times Jobs, Times Foundation, Times School of Marketing and provided Strategic Management & HRD support towards the formation of Times Music, Times Interactive Ltd ( Times Internet ) ,Planet M , Times Now ,Radio Mirch. He worked very closely with Mr. Samir Jain the Vice-Chairman and Mr. Vineet Jain, M.D to spearhead the change management initiatives to professionalize the management, diversification and moving the company from a Newspaper centric company to a Multi – Media company. He left Bennett, Coleman & Co.Ltd in the year 2005, to start Sri Ramakrishna International Institute of Management (SRIIOM ) and Centre For Human Resource Development . Dr. Maitra is the recipient of: 1. Europe Business Assembly Prestigious International Award in science and education sphere presented in Oxfrd University, U.K. 2. “Rashtriya Udyog Ratna Award” from the State Government for facilitating growth of industries. 3. “National Education Excellence Award” from Central Government for Skill Development in working professionals. 4. Dr. Maitra has been the Winner of Entrepreneurship Award conferred by International Society of Leadership for Integrating Spirituality and Organizational Development. 5. He got the Quality Brand Award in the year 2013 for the quality of education being offered by Sri Ramakrishna International Institute of Management.

Designing and conducting the “Future CEO School” – A Post MBA Certification Programme in General Management to create the best CEO’s for the Excel Group, J.M.Baxi Group, Kalpataru Group, Midmark ,USA HDFC Life Insurance etc. 2. He has designed HR Gurukul – A Post MBA Certification Programme for up - gradation of HR professionals for companies like Mahindra & Mahinda, L&T, RPG Group , etc. As a public programme HR Guruku has trained more than 1000 HR professionals from the level of Manager to President –HR. 3. He has provided Transformational Leadership Training for members of senior and top management of ACC Ltd, Astral Polytechnik, Ashirwad Pipes, BPCL, Coal India Ltd, Deloitte, Indian Oil Ltd, Kalpataru Ltd, Lubrizol, J.M.Baxi Group . 4. He has been involved in advising M.D. & CEO’s of various companies in the SME sectr, start-ups and corporate companies like B Braun Medical ( India ) Ltd, Ess Dee Aluminum Ltd, Excel Crop Care Ltd, J..Baxi Group, Kalpataru Group, Lubrizol, Midmark, USA, Orios Technologies, etc 5. He has created the Vision & Business Strategy for Astral Polytechnik, Ashirwad Pipes, B Braun Medical (India ) Ltd, Ess Dee Aluminum Ltd, Excel Crop Care Ltd, Goenka Diamonds & Jewels Ltd , HDFC Life Insurance Ltd, Kalpataru Ltd, Orios Technology ( A E-Commerce company ) Reliance Communication Ltd, Shriram Fortune Ltd, Welspun Group etc. 6. He has made stellar contribution to improve retention and reduce attrition in companies such as Abbot Truecare, TCS, Welspun 7. He has been constantly providing Executive Coaching to CEO’s , and Sr. Partners of big five consulting house and President / V.P .of many companies based on 360 degree feedback and Psychometric Tests. 8. He has provided very high quality talent at senior levels to Abbott India ltd, Excel Crop Care Ltd, Ess Dee Aluminum Ltd, RPG Lfe Sciences, UPL Ltd, Mahindra & Mahindra Group, Tata Group , Welspun Group etc. Institution Building ; Dr. Ashoke k.Maitra has spearheaded the growth and development of Ess Dee Aluminum Ltd from Rs. 60 crore to Rs. 1200 crore enterprise, Bennett, Coleman & Co .Ltd from Rs. 200 crore to Rs. 2000/- crore, Excel Crop Care from Rs.200 crore to Rs. 1200 crore and many other companies in the SME sector. He has been instrumental in building the Leadership pipeline for succession planning for the following companies : 1. Astral Polytechnik , Ahmedabad. 2. Ashirwad Pipes Bangalore.
