I am no gluttonous reader, but a lazy English student who finds the process of
reading and writing to be quite tedious. Months at a stretch where I don t flip a page
is uncommon. My displeasure from books was driven off of how much interest I
have and the content I choose to read. A lack of interest makes it difficult to initiate
and finish the reading. It also makes me less attentive as I am prone to distractions.
Consequently, I wound up not understanding a single thing I just read and my writing
becomes unorganized, not knowing where I left off. After all, interest sparks
motivation, and no motivation equals zero attention for the book, hence I m unable
to follow the storyline. When deficient in inspiration, I m restrained from writing
passionately. Furthermore, my interest plays a role in choosing a content I enjoy
reading. Not all texts are equally challenging, so the selection of my content declines
improving in English.
Subtitles from shows in another language are what I relish because I appreciate the
storyline from animations and dramas. I prefer reading subtitles over listening to the
English dubbed (having the show translated), because I have a harder time listening

The Man Who Left His Glass Slipper in the Ring Cinderella Man was a movie

when the stock market crashed in October of 1929. During this time people lost
their jobs, homes, families, and their basic way of living. Banks collapsed, and the
drought killed most of the crops. In the film the setting is New York about four
years after the Depression set in. James J. Braddock gets a call to adventure when
he realizes that he will not be able to provide for his family without a job. Jim
doesn t have a boxing job because he lost his license after breaking his wrist several
times and started to lose matches. The director shows many items that Jim lost
after the depression set in. Since Jim is without a boxing job he attempts to get a
job at the dock. This is an example of Crossing the First Threshold, because Jim has a

Joe, Jim s old manager, comes back and gives him hope by asking him to fight one
fight. This creates Jim s Road of Trials because he trains and begins making
progress towards winning a fight. Mae acts as Jim s Woman Temptress. I decided
to use Mae as his temptress because she begs Braddock to stop fighting and she
tells him that fighting is killing him. Jim reaches the Atonement with the Father
when he gets to fight for the first time after losing his license. The crowd is in
disbelief when Jim wins his first fight back. Jim finally reaches the goal that he was
set out to accomplish when he wins multiple fights and gets his boxing license back.
Since getting his license back was Jim s number one goal, this accomplishment fits
under the Ultimate Boon category. Now that Jim has his license he can now win
fights and make money for his family. The Ultimate Boon completes the initiation
step of Jim s hero
