This document analyzes the paragraph composition performance of English students at Universitas Islam Indragiri. The students were asked to write two types of paragraphs - a process paragraph and a comparison/contrast paragraph. Their work was evaluated based on five criteria: format, punctuation/mechanics, content, organization, and sentence structure. The results found that 27.3% of students performed admirably, 40.9% competently, and 31.8% sufficiently. Overall, the students' paragraph composition performance was determined to be in the sufficient to admirable range. However, more practice is needed to improve their skills further.
