Introduction ● Raspberry Pi is a series of small single-board computers developed by the Raspberry Pi Foundation. ● Raspberry Pi are tiny super cheap computers. ● It is widely used in research projects, such as for weather monitoring. ● Raspberry Pi runs the linux operating system. It’s called Raspbian as it is specifically designed for Raspberry Pi. ● There are no peripheral devices attached to it. It functions as a CPU of the computer.

- 4. ● In the image above, you can see Raspberry Pi 4 Model B. ● Raspberry Pi 4 Model B is the latest product in the popular Raspberry Pi range of computers. ● It offers groundbreaking increases in processor speed, multimedia performance, memory, and connectivity compared to the prior generation Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+, while retaining backwards compatibility and similar power consumption. ● General Purpose Input/Output Pins (GPIO Pins) : These pins receive electrical signals and you can control those electrical signal from the operating system. ● You can see 4 full size USB ports, out of which two are USB 3.0 ports and other two USB 2.0 ports. ● You can also see 2 micro HDMI ports. ● Power over Ethernet(PoE) is enabled(requires a PoE HAT).
- 5. Pi Zero: ● It is super tiny. It requires a few extra adapters to get everything connected to it. ● It has a built-in WiFi/Bluetooth. ● It’s great for projects that have very little extra space. ● It doesn’t have as much as computing power as it’s bigger siblings. Model A Series: ● It has a faster processor than the PI zero but with the same amount of memory, a full sized USB port, audio port and a full sized HDMI port. Generations of Raspberry Pi
- 6. ● It requires extra adapters and it is also great for small projects that need more power. Model B Series: ● Four full size USB ports ● Full size Ethernet ● Up to 4 GB of memory ● Quad-core processor ● Can support dual monitors ● Built-in WiFi and Bluetooth.

You can see the blueprint of Raspberry Pi in the above labelled diagram. ● The previous version of Raspberry Pi(Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+) has a full size HDMI single port but Raspberry 4 has two micro HDMI ports. This actually doubles the output and provides the support for 4K displays. ● It uses a Broadcom BCM2711 SoC with a 1.5 GHz 64-bit quad-core ARM Cortex-A72 processor, with 1 MiB shared L2 cache. ● Raspberry Pi has a choice of 1, 2 or 4 GiB of RAM, set at the time of manufacture. ● Raspberry Pi can be operated with any generic USB keyboard and mouse.
