Analysis of Opening Film Techniques Employed - Misery

Film Techniques               Examples of typical film techniques used and why–
                              Illustrate your findings with references to actual
                              onscreen moments.
Titling – colour, font style, Metro Goldwyn Major Trademark – American media
over image or black,          company, involved in production and distribution of films
timing, credits               and television programs – lasts for 6 seconds

                              Not many credits may be because that is not important
                              and setting the story line seemed more important.
Camera Movement
(panning, tracking, crane
shot and crabbing etc)



Framing of Shot             Close up – used for audience to see each close detail –
(CU, MLS, ELS etc)          may also show what type of person the character is i.e.
                            personality wise
                            POV shot – shows view from the subject’s perspective
