Animatic Voice Over

Hello and thank you for watching my storyboard animatic. Firstly I
would like to explain that due to the nature of my film and the
locations used for filming, it wasn’t possible to take pictures of all
the scenes before I started filming (although whilst filming I used
my drawn storyboard – as can be seen in the pictures on my extras
page) so before I start to edit my film I have used screen shots
from the footage I have recorded to produce an animatic.

Shot 1 This is a fairly high angle shot – fade from black of a boy asleep in bed,
               he seems peaceful
Shot 2 Mid shot – same boy wakes up sharply – wide eyes then fade to black
Shot 3 Fade from black zoom out to show a different boy stood looking at a wall
of pictures of the boy from the previous shot – fade to black
Shot 4 Back in the first boys house, walking from his room across the landing
               to the stairs
Shot 5 Match on action – boy reaching bottom of the stairs – we see the post
on the door mat – he picks it up
Shot 6 Over shoulder match on action of boy with post – thumbs through the
letters quickly – stops at the back letter – pauses to give audience a
               chance to see
Shot 7 Close up of boy – he closes his eyes and takes a deep breath then turns
               and walks down the hall
Shot 8 High angle match on angle meant to look like CCTV as boy walks into
the living room, walks towards the camera – reaches up to get a black
box from the top of the cabinet
Shot 9 Over shoulder match on action of boy sat in chair with the box on his
knee – takes off the lid to show a box full of the same letters, puts letter
in box – fades to black.
Shot 10 New place – wide shot pan – boy walks round corner, gets so far and
pauses, takes out headphones and walks away.
Shot 11 Same place as previous shot but the next day – boy gets to the same
               place and stops again.
Shot 12 Mid over shoulder shot – boy looking at open gate – phone rings –
               answers and walks away
Shot 13 Same place again but next day – walks round to the same place and
               stops
Shot 14 Close up – takes a deep breath, closes eyes and walks past the camera
Shot 15 Mid shot from behind – boy walks through the gate – fade to black
Shot 16 Titles – bridge the two halves of the story
Shot 17 Fade from black – establishing shot of an abandoned building.
Shot 18 Pan out – boy tied to chair – regains consciousness and starts to
struggle and look around starts to rock on chair and fall
Shot 19 Match on action close up of boy hitting the floor
Shot 20 Wide shot from behind boy on floor – can now see other boy pacing and
shouting in front with a gun
Shot 21 High angle wide shot of boy pacing – the other boy is in the background
getting free – the larger boys phone rings – he answers – other boy
pretends to still be tied up – boy on phone puts his gun on the side
Shot 22 Two shot of captured boy and gun – boy starts to get up but his jumper
            is stuck
Shot 23 Mid shot from behind – boy takes off his jumper – walks towards the
            gun – fade to black
Shot 24 Fade from black pan shot – captor walks back into shot – still on the
phone – realises the gun has gone – looks down
Shot 25 Eye line match – chair, rope and jumper on the floor
Shot 26 Close up – captor shouting – other boy appears from behind –
            chloroforms his captor
Shot 27 Mid shot of the captor tied up unconscious – regains consciousness and
            starts to struggle
Shot 28 Wide over shoulder shot – first boy now has gun – pacing and shouting
            – stops to look at his kidnapper – wall writing and t-shirt match up to
            say “can’t have me”
Shot 29 Over shoulder shot slight high angle – first boy raises the gun
Shot 30 Mid shot of first boy shouting and waving the gun
Shot 31 Close up of first boy – closes his eyes and takes a breath
Shot 32 Pan out – boy with gun falls to the floor – kidnapper dead in the chair –
            fade to black
