Material:
● One plastic egg or hard-boiled egg.
Text of the chant:
(Chicken, chicken), do not rest; an egg is missing from your nest!
Have the (chicken) guess who has the egg by asking a specific child
"Have you stolen my egg ?"
If the child does not have the egg she replies "I don’t have it ! ".
If the child does have the egg she replies "Yes, I have the egg!" and
hands the egg to the (chicken).
Then that child stands in the middle.
Procedure:
The teacher gives information about chicken and eggs.
Afterward, they all play a game together:
Procedure:
● Teacher says the rhyme and the pupils have to repeat it.
● Then we form a circle.
● One child is the chicken and sits in the middle of the circle and has to close
the eyes.
● Everybody holds her hands behind the back.
● The teacher places the egg in one pupil’s hand.
● After that all say together.

● Then, the child who is the chicken is allowed to open the eyes and has to
notice, which pupil has the egg.
● The chicken has to guess and ask a specific child:
"Have you stolen my egg?“
● If the child does not have the egg she replies: "Sorry I don’t have it ! ".
● If the child does have the egg she replies "Yes, I have the egg!" and hands the
egg to the (chicken).Then that child goes to the middle.
Teaching aims:
● Pupils should be able to understand the chant.
● Pupils should be able to pronounce the words correctly.
● Pupils should be able to say the rhyme fluently.
● Pupils should participate and enjoy practising English.
