This course introduces students to physical anthropology through lectures, discussions, films and assignments. The course objectives are to help students understand human cultural heritage and diversity, develop critical thinking skills, and consider issues relating to cultural change. Students will learn about archaeology, the human fossil record, primate evolution and human variation. Assessment includes CD-ROM assignments, exams, writing papers and group work.
