This document summarizes an image processing software called ICONNECT that is used to reliably detect line markings on tires in an automated vehicle assembly process. The software analyzes camera images and uses adjustable parameters to identify markings that may differ in position, size, shape, brightness, and orientation. It displays detection results and error status on a monitor and transfers information to a PLC. The system is suitable for different rim types and sizes and can detect markings even with varying lighting conditions. ICONNECT was selected for this application due to its graphical interface that allows flexible software adaptations without direct programming.
