Argumentative Essay Guidelines
Objective:
The objective of this writing assignment is to craft an essay that makes arguments for as to why you believe one particular person, living or deceased, is
inspiring, admirable, and honorable. You will make the case for that person and
argue their superb characteristics to be unique and above average.
Standard(s): 7.W.1, 7.W.4, 7.W.10

Assignment:
You are to write an essay that contains: (a) an introduction with a thesis statement; (b) three separate arguments with supporting details for each; (b) a paragraph addressing how that person has affected you personally and; (c) a conclusion. Your grade is dependent on the use of a thesis statement, transitions,
topic sentences, and closing sentences.

Friday, January 10th @ end of class
Outline:
Wednesday, January 15th @ start of class
Rough Draft:
Friday, January 17th @ end of class
Writer's Conferences:

Final Draft:
Wednesday, January 22nd @ end of class
