INTELLIGENCE?
 “The capacity to learn and solve problems” in particular.
 The ability to solve novel problems.
 The ability to act rationally.
 The ability to act like humans.
ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE?
The study and design of intelligent agents in which intelligent agent is the
system which perceives its environment and takes action which maximize its
chances of success.
INTRODUCTION
 Artificial intelligence (AI) is the intelligence exhibited by machines or software.
Major AI researchers and textbooks define this field as "the study and design ofintelligent
agents", in which an intelligent agent is a system that perceives its environment and takes
actions that maximize its chances of success.
John McCarthy, who coined the term in 1955, defines
it as “the science and engineering of making intelligent machines’’.
Some say it’s putting the human mind into computers.
The field was founded on the claim that a central property of humans, human intelligence --
the sapience of Homo sapiens—"can be so precisely described that a machine can be made
to simulate it.
 The AI field is interdisciplinary,
in which a number of sciences
and professions converge.

➤Expert System
An Expert System is a computer program designed to act as an expert in a particular
domain (area of expertise). Domain of E.S. Knowledge base Facts Heuristics Phases
in Expert System. Expert systems currently are designed to assist experts, not to replace
them, They have been used in medical diagnosis, chemical analysis, geological
explorations etc.

Artificial Intelligence
➤Speech Recognition
The goal of speech recognition research is to allow computers to understand
human speech. So that they can hear our voices and recognize the words we
are speaking.
Siri, on iOS using speech recognition.
➤Computer Vision
The goal of computer vision research is to give computers this same powerful
facility for understanding their surrounding.
Face recognition process using AI.
➤Automatic Programming
Automatic programming is the generation of programs by computer. It is one of
the most important part of A.I.
Automatic programming process.
A.I Personal Assistants
Siri and Google Now are all intelligent digital personal
assistants on various platforms which are
based on A.I.

➤Video Games
One of the instances of AI that most people are probably familiar with, video
game. AI has been used for a very long time in video games.
A game UI based on AI.
➤Smart Cars
Although we haven’t seen smart cars on street yet. But as the Artificial
intelligence is developing, that day is not so far when we would not need a driver.

FUTURE SCOPE
• Artificial minds will just single mindedly pursue their aims and these aims may not
necessarily coincide with ours.
• “WE’RE UNLIKELY EVER TO BE ABLE TO EFFECTIVELY
CONTROL ANY SUPER INTELLIGENCE WE CREATE”.
• A machine wouldn't
specifically want to kill us but
its ammortality would mean that
it would be willing to cause our
extinction if necessary.
But,according to the optimists,in a world of artificial super intelligence
machines will still be our servants.
➤Positive imagination of Future
Maybe, the day is not far when we will just sit back in our cozy little beds and
just command our personal Robot's to entirely do our ruts . He will be a perfect
companion for us. Just enjoy the Technology.
A ‘gardener’ theme robot.
➤Negative imagination of Future
It may end in other way too. Some day there will be a knock at our door. As we
open it, we’ll see a large number of Robots marching into our house destroying
everything we own and looting you. This is because ever since there is an
advantage in the Technology, it attracts anti- social elements. This is true for
Robots too. Because now they will have full power to think as human, even as
of anti-social elements. So we should think trice before giving them power
of Cognition.
An imaginary soldier robot.
• The immediate priority of super intelligence would beto help us to create FREE ENERGY.
• In turn dramatically reducing the prices of almost everything.
• Everything currently costly, would drop to almost zero!!
• The way data costs now.
Conclusion
In it’ s short existence, AI has increased understanding of the nature of
intelligence and provided an impressive array of application in a wide
range of areas. It has sharpened understanding of human reasoning, and of
the nature of intelligence in general. At the same time, it has revealed the
complexity of modeling human reasoning providing new areas and rich
challenges for the future.
