What is Artificial Intelligence?
 It is the science and engineering of making intelligent
machines, especially intelligent computer programs.
 Its core idea is building machines and algorithms which are
capable of performing computational tasks that would
otherwise require human like brain functions.

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN OUR DAILY LIFE
Artificial intelligence has a wide range of
applications in our daily lives. Artificial intelligence
has simplified our lives by saving our time, money,
and energy.
 Smart Phone Camera:- Camera’s in our
smartphone uses highly powered AI algorithm to
detect our face and background, to provide us
with best possible pictures.
 Weather Forecasting Apps:- Weather apps use
AI to analyse the large amount of previous and
current data to predict the weather conditions of
our area and provide us with best possible
forecast.
AI IN OUR DAILY LIFE
 OLA/UBER:- In these apps AI helps to determine the shortest
possible way to pickup customer’s and to charge higher fares
during peak(Rush) hours.
 Google Maps:- In Google maps AI provides us with route
maps, estimated travel time, and real time traffic conditions.
 Social Media:- Apps such as FACEBOOK, INSTAGRAM uses
AI to automatically tag your friends in photos and show friend
suggestions from your nearby areas.
AI IN OUR DAILY LIFE
 Surveillance Cameras:- Surveillance Cameras uses AI for
Facial Recognition, Motion detection and Weapons Detection
for security purposes.
 E-Commerce Websites:- Websites such as Amazon, Flipkart,
Myntra etc uses AI to show personalized products and
recommendations base on our search history.
 OTT Apps:- In apps such as Netflix, Amazon-video etc AI
recommends movies and shows on these platforms with the
help of our previous watch history.

FUTURE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
 AI will change the way we live and work.
For example, now we can schedule the robotic
vacuum cleaner to clean the floor and thereby we
can save some time and energy. Using Artificial
intelligence, the robotic vacuum cleaner avoids
colliding into obstacles and cleans the surface
effectively.
FUTURE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
 Driverless vehicles will reduce the burden of driving
for us and will most likely reduce the probability of
vehicular accidents by eliminating the chance of
human error.
For example, Waymo (Google’s Self Driving Car), Tesla,
Audi Delphi, Chevrolet Volt.
ADVANTAGES OF AI
 24/7 Availability : Machines don’t require frequent
breaks and refreshments as like human beings.
 Medical Application : One of the great advantages of
Artificial Intelligence is utilized in the field of
medicine.
 Reduction of Error : The advantage of using
Artificial Intelligence is, it helps us for error
reduction and increasing the chance of reaching
higher accuracy with a greater degree of precision.
DIS-ADVANTAGES OF AI
 High Cost of Implementation : Setting up AI-based
machines, computers, etc. entails huge costs given
the complexity of engineering that goes into building
one.
Risk of Unemployment : A study states that
automation will displace between 400 to 800 million
jobs by 2030.
Lacks Creativity : AIs are not built for creative
pieces of work. So, it should be crystal clear by now
that creativity or imagination is not the forte of the
AIs

Natural language processing strives to build
machines that understand and respond to text
or voice data and respond with text or speech
of their own in much the same way humans do.
ACTIVITY
In order to understand the Natural Language Processing lets do an activity:-
 Open Google Assistant or Siri on your smartphones.
 Ask these questions to Google Assistant or Siri:-
(i) Hey! Google/Siri how are you today?
(ii) Hey! Google/Siri what’s the date today?
(iii) Hey! Google/Siri how’s the weather today?
COMPUTER VISION
Computer vision is a field of artificial intelligence
(AI) that enables computers and systems to derive
meaningful information from digital images, videos
and other visual inputs and take actions or make
recommendations based on that information.
ACTIVITY
In order to understand the Computer vision
lets do an activity:-
Open Google lens app on your smartphones.
 Take picture of any object that you would
like to get recommendations for such as
mouse, Pen, T-shirts, Chairs, Cups, jackets,
Tea, Food etc.
DATA COLLECTION FOR AI
Data collection is the process of gathering and
measuring information from countless different
sources. It can be in the form of text, pictures,
audio, video, numbers, graphs etc.
AI PROJECT CYCLE
Project Cycle is an appropriate framework which
can lead us towards developing an AI Project.
This can be done using a series of steps that can
be described using the Life Cycle of AI.

The problem scoping refers to the identification of
a problem and the vision to solve it.
The 4Ws are very helpful in problem scoping. They are:
1.Who? – who is facing a problem and who are the stakeholders of
the problem
2.What? – what is the problem and how you know about the problem
3.Where? – It is related to the context or situation or location of the
problem
4.Why? – why we need to solve the problem and what are the
benefits to the stakeholders after solving the problem
DATA ACQUISITION
The stage of acquiring data from the relevant sources
is known as data acquisition.
 Types of data that can be acquired:-
1. Numeric Data
2. Text Data
3. Structured Data
4. Unstructured Data
5. Semi-structured Data
6. Time Stamped Data
7. Machine Data
8. Open Data
9. Real Time Data

disadvantages of the model.
EVALUATION
Evaluation is basically to check the performance of
your AI model. It involves collecting and analysing
information about a program’s activities,
characteristics, and outcomes.
