Taken- This is used as it is centred in the heart of France, Paris. Empty house easy for kidnap. 2. Low key lighting (Creates a lot shadows, giving it a eerie atmosphere) X Red Lights- This is used because the opening sequence consists of low key lighting and hints of lights creates eerie, sinister atmosphere. 3. Investigation/puzzle narrative (Creates a plethora of enigmas ) X Se7en- The use of this narrative creates a lot of enigma and has audience at the edge of their seats. X 4.Fast pace editing and various camera shots and movements (Panning, extreme close ups, tracking, tilts, canted or point of view) 5. Predominately dark colours (Black, white and grey-hints of bright colours) 6. Protagonist and antagonist are introduced X Gattaca- Extreme close ups are used, however, the pace of the editing is developed as it isn’t the conventional fast paced thriller film. It instead much slower to add the same suspense. Collateral- The grey special effects in this film are used to add to the mysterious atmosphere of a typical thriller movie. X The Negotiator-This is developed as antagonist isn’t revealed until the end and isn’t suspected at the beginning either.
