Fall 2013

Assignment #1

PROP-AGENDA

1. Bring to class a small object (one that can be pretty much hidden in a closed
hand). The object should be, at least one of the following: unusual, interesting,
unique, provocative, and mysterious or have some personal value. It should not
be: dirty or leave a stain, liquid, colloidal or gelatinous in nature, sharp, pointed,
toxic or cause an injury, have a hygienic purpose or be otherwise disgusting, very
brittle and prone to breakage or be very valuable and missed if accidentally lost
or broken.
I know, I know… what fun can it be?
2. On a standard, 8 ½ “x 11”, sheet of paper, type a double spaced paragraph, of 80
to 100 words, identifying the object you have brought to class. Tell how you
came to possess this object. The narrative can be true or made-up. Commit the
story to memory (this does not mean that you have to memorize it verbatim.), and
be prepared to defend the story if questioned.
