Games for learning in an attractive manner
Your name, surname : ANNE PERERA
1. Choose one theme from the list given below. Elaborate a learning game based on
that theme.
Where was the sun all the night?
2. Please, describe your game according to this scheme:
2.1.The theme chosen (from the list) as a base for the game. Explain in short how
things take place in reality.
Daytime is when we can see the sun from where we are, and its light and heat can
reach us. Night time is when the sun is on the other side of the Earth from us, and its
light and heat don’t get to us.
We get day and night because the Earth spins (or rotates) on an imaginary line called
its axis and different parts of the planet are facing towards the Sun or away from it. It
takes 24 hours for the world to turn all the way around, and we call this a day.
2.2.The name of the game.
Dark Earth (Day to night)
2.3.The aim of the game (what you want to achieve in the result).
To clearly teach “where was the sun all the night?” How “The earth rotates on its
axis once in twenty-four hours. When one side of the earth is turned towards
the sun it will be daylight on that side and night on the opposite side. The earth
itself blocks out the sunlight and makes it possible to see the stars in the night
time sky.”
2.4.What kind of game will it be, a table game, a computer game, an outdoor
sport game or some other type of game?
Indoor Sport Game
2.5.Will this game be for kids or adults? Of what age? (You have all the freedom
to create a game for players of any age!)
For kids
2.6.What knowledge will the children acquire? What skills will they develop?
Intellectual, or Cognitive development
Learning, remembering, problem solving, and thinking — develop from birth
until adulthood. Physical Development
Social-Emotional Development
Social-Emotional development describes how children develop skills that allow
them to interact with other people and to express and control their emotions.
2.7.What resources do you need for the realisation of the game (give all the list:
PC,
Paper, paint, a ruler, scissors, glue, a ball, cards, stickers, etc.)?
A ball/ A big LED light/ Dark Room/ Music player/ Clock drawing image
2.8.Please, give the detailed instruction of the game (explain the structure of the
game, how it should be played, the number of players, the rules of the game,
etc.) so that every reader could understand the meaning of the game.
This Game require 24 Players,
This is an indoor games , Can be use to dark room for the game, There should be
a big LED light and music player. Large 24 hours clock drawn on floor.
Instruction
 This game needs a lot of space in order to play it. Make sure we have
a wide open space in a room to easily play the game. We need to large
clock drawn on the floor, We need enough space to have players set
up in a circle around the clock and room need enough space for the
players to walk with this circle with passing the ball.
 Walk around the clock when the music starts. As soon as the music
starts playing, the players walk in a circle around the clock, all players
should go the same direction following the person in front of them.
 Players should walk at a comfortable pace around the clock without
slowing down.
 After some time, the teacher, or host should stop the music. When the
music stops, each player needs to stay at there place & one player have
that ball. After that player which have ball should tell their time and is
it night or day, The teacher should find that number from the list and
give a task to that player to do. It can be decided anything like a Art
work, sing a song, dancing, acting or questions & that player should
left to the game.
2.9.What will the players do in the course of the game (think, solve problems,
draw, move, cut, count, create new idea, read, etc.)?
Every players got some task to do, it should be realted to “Where was the sun all the
night? “ . It improve their thinking , writing , drawing or create new idea. As well
teachers can understand what they are got in that game.
2.10. Please, illustrate your ideas using one game case from the beginning till
the end, assigning names to the heroes (you can use also pictures) and
explaining the algorithm and logic of the game (it is up to you, as you need to
think how to make it as clear as possible.

2.11. Explain how you make the game attractive and motivating for learning?
We can use famous songs for the music regarding the theme of earth & sun, as well
after finished their task we can selected winners and give them to gift. Give
opportunity to perform which they have learned through this game. Kids can enjoy
the game as well they can got knowledge and experience which playing the game, it’s
not boring like a class room lesson, they can actively participated it.
2.12. How will the players judge about (understand) their outcomes (what they
have learnt)?
Kids try to think and understand why they going to light place in to dark place, The
Light (Sun) is not moving but players always moving. They can understand it
practically what happen to the sun while they are turned.
