- 2. Possession/Spirits • My choice of subgenre is possession/spirits. This sub genre interests me because I believe there's a lot of ideas and plots that haven’t yet been tested within this region of horror films, its clogged up with clichés and repetitive ideas. The filming of these films seems challenging, and I believe I could create a convincing and enigmatic plot that would hook the audience.

- 4. Conventions • Some of the main conventions that are consistent throughout possession films is that the victim of the possession is usually a female, weak or disadvantaged in some way, like a young child or a recovering drug addict (the evil dead). • The ability of the spirits power is frightening, so therefore the protagonists' family or friends usually seek help, coming in the form of religious banishers, like the priest in The Exorcism or the couple from Conjuring 2. there is a common theme of the spirit/demon having links with satanic beings, and sometimes representing them.

Plot • Protagonist, played by myself, will be shown in the car on the way home from a rave with his mates, all very intoxicated and buzzing. • As he arrives (is dropped off by mates) he unlocks the door and stumbles in clumsily. There is a book, bound by chains and spattered in blood, lying on the sofa. • It catches his attention, and there is a focus pull on the book. He walks over to it and sits next to it. • He drunkenly opens the book and reads aloud the first line of the page he is on. “la bobbyeiaga, come forth now”. • He laughs and throws the book back into the sofa and makes his way to his bed upstairs. • As he enters the room (his bedroom) he turns to shut the door but its already closed, confusing, he is convinced he's just imagining stuff because he's drunk. He heads to the bed and as he pulls back the covers to get in, there is blood all over his sheets, spelling “vessel of the devil” with an outline of a body. • He goes to step away in horror but his vision swirls and he topples into the bed, landing perfectly into the outline, as a bell from a church chimes menacingly outside, and the camera zooms out, into the dark black sky.
- 6. How We Will Meet Conventions • We don’t plan on hitting many major conventions, as we want to produce something original and new, but we will touch upon connotations of Satan and hell and heaven, to accentuate the higher power within the horror.
- 7. Narrative Enigmas • Many narrative enigmas will be interweaved within our OTS. • What did the message mean? • Why is the book there? • What happened to me? • Why is there blood in my bed?
- 8. Aims And Dat • I want to pull off a realistic and believable, but interesting OTS in the sub genre of Possession. We will need excellent acting and lighting and props, but all of this can be achieved. I want to have a variety of challenging camera angles and shots to differentiate my work from others, combined with dedicated acting, I think this will make for a great OTS. Any questions?
