Abstract
Rapid technological advances are among all facets of our
lives, from home, schools and businesses. Human
Resource Managers evolving role and its impact on
organizations as technology changes are happening so
quickly it can be complicated to understand the latest
developments and the impact it will serve to people in the
workplace. As technology increases, the traditional
human resource professional must take immediate strides
to keep up with the sudden changes in a progressive
society, (SHRM, 2008).
Human Resource
Management positions
will be essential to the
core of its organization
and be required to
continually update their
skills as well as recruit,
inform and train
employees to meet the
challenges of the
organization’s
requirements, (Noe,
Hollenbeck, Gerhart, &
Wright, P. 2009).
The Workforce Environment
 The biggest asset in an organization is its people, including
skillful innovated human resources managers that have the
resources and capacity to maintain the complexities of the
immediate demands and transformation of technology.
 Human Resource Managers are responsible for managing the
organization’s performance by matching and specifying the
tasks of employee’s and outcomes of a job that contribute to the
organization’s success, (Noe et al., 2009).
 Staffing an organization requires recruitment on an internal and
external level and increases the pool of candidates providing
organizations choices of qualified applicants.
Technology Advancements
 Technology allows significant changes
for human resource managers and aids
in the search for specific or desired
talent throughout a geographic area.
 Information and communication
technology and the present of the
internet offers substantial new ways to
attract and recruit talent as well as
organize a firm’s entire human
resource function, (Morison, n.d.).
 Electronic HRM (E-HRM) can
provide a firm with a competitive edge
in a tough market for skills by
establishing a better talent
management capability.
Global Impact
As human resource managers search for candidates to fit an
organization’s needs, they are challenged with the concerns of
recruiting and diversity management on a global level.
Factors affecting human resources management on an international
level include, culture, education, economic system and political legal
systems.
When organizations hire employees to work abroad, employers need
to provide the necessary training on how to handle the challenges of
working in a foreign country, (Noe, et al., 2009).
HRM & Global Challenges
Conclusion
Developments in technologies are
influencing human resource
managers, they enhance the
organizations’ profits as well as
improvements with strategic
decision making in a fast-pace
competitive market. The biggest
asset in an organization is its
people, including skillful innovated
human resources managers that
have the resources and capacity to
maintain the complexities of the
immediate demands and
transformation of technology.
