    campaign for Attack the Block.

                    http://attacktheblock.com/
Internet research
• Find as many posters for the film as you can.
• Have links to the official trailers... were there any teaser trailers or TV
  spots?
• Was there a premiere?
• Can you find reviews and interviews? (TV, magazine, newspaper, web
  etc)
• Merchandise?
• Website - what appears on the website? (video, games, cast biographies
  etc)
• What internet campaigns were there (Facebook,You Tube, Twitter)
How well did ‘ATTACH THE BLOCK’ do at the box office?

Attack the Block has not blossomed into a big box office success.
The returns so far total less than £3.5 million worldwide, against a
reported production budget of £9 million.
Will it become a cult favorite on home video - can it recoup its
expenses and reap a modest profit?
The complaints generally fall into the categories of "Not as good as I'd
hoped it would be," and / or "You guys over-hyped it.”

What does this say about the overall concept and the advertising,
publicity and promotion strategy done by the distributor?
TO INCLUDE ON YOUR POWERPOINT
     BOX OFFICE RESULTS AND QUESTIONS

Why do you think it didn’t do well at the box office?
How well did it target its audience?
Why has the film not been a success - is this to do with the
            concept or distribution strategy?
What challenges did the genre provide in targeting an
                        audience?
THE MEDIA CAMPAIGN - SUCCESS?

• Looking at the media campaign, was the distribution
strategy strong - advertising, publicity and promotion?

• What were the most effective ways the media campaign
targeted its audience? (look at your handouts already given
    on the media campaign).

• Do you think it can recover with release on ancillary
    markets?
To include in power point -
           Homework task
 • Your homework task is to research the production
company behind ‘Attack the Block’, Big Talk
     Productions.

 • This British film production company will be one of
     our case studies.

- How long has the company been around?
- Who runs it?
- What does the company do?
• Also......

- What films has it made?
- What date of release were they
- an you name the director, producer, distributer, budget and gross
revenue?

You can find all this information at
