Often workers may attempt to rescue another worker and inhale deadly fumes from the fire resulting in their own death in the process. The next step would be to isolate the fire which can be done maybe closing doors or sealing off the fire from other parts of the site. The next action to follow would be to call emergency services. If it is safe to do so a worker can attempt to extinguish the fire, only if the fire is small and the worker will not endanger themselves by doing so.
