    into your blog through AuthorStream.
1. Create in PowerPoint or other AuthorStream-
   compatible presentation software.
2. Pay attention to aesthetics of slides.
  Include examples and engaging graphics
  Avoid using too much text
3.Record   narration over slideshow.
4. Upload presentation to AuthorSTREAM.
5. Embed in a blog post that reflects upon your
   learning.

  • #3: For next week, you will read and The Horizon Report and Understanding the Digital Generation , two texts that look at the future of education in light of recent and imminent technological changes. The Horizon Report, put together by the New Media Consortium through the Horizon Project, charts the landscape of emerging technologies for teaching, learning, research, creative inquiry, and information management. You will be reading the K-12 edition of the Horizon report, , which was launched in 2009 and which examines emerging technologies for their potential impact on and use in teaching, learning, and creative inquiry in pre-college environments.
  • #4: Based on your reading of these texts, you will create a narrated PowerPoint presentationdesigned to share with future colleagues your learning. Focus on sharing that which you feel that they, as fellow educators, should also know about education and/or its future, in light of the Digital Age. Do not attempt to be comprehensive (i.e., cover everything in both readings) with your presentation, but rather focus in a bit narrower.
  • #5: Resources for futurepartners in the field and maybe some current ones, too (given that you will post the final product on your blog).
  • #6: Create your presentation in PowerPoint. Microsoft Office is available on campus computers. You may also use similar free or alternative programs as long as you can record narration on them, too, and they are compatible with AuthorStream.Be careful not to crowd the slide with too much information (i.e., it makes sense to have much less on your slide than what you say; a script is often a good idea). Here are more guidelines for designing PowerPoint slides.Be sure to include examples and engaging graphics.Record narration over your PowerPoint presentation.Upload your presentation to AuthorSTREAM.Embed your presentation in a blog post that reflects upon your learning.Due in class on 9/13.
