- 1. It was a solemn morning of July 18, 1993 when a little boy was born. Jerome Juniosa Acueza Salay his my real name. He is the fifth sibling of Clodualdo Acueza Salay of Balian, Pangil, Laguna and Mercedes Romantico Juniosa of Sablayan Occidental Mindoro, both Filipino and Roman Catholic. His brothers and sisters were as follows: Rick Adrian, Ronwaldo, Maricris, Crisel, Crystel, Wendy and Ralph Waldo J. Salay. He is the most naughty and the most clever, also known as the “ the black sheep “ of the family. His childhood bestfriend was “kolengkay” or Cecilia V. Acupan. They were the very bestfriend on that time. When he is a kindergarten of Victor O. de Guia Memorial Elementary School near to their home, his teacher is Mrs. Rosalina Lascano. Mrs. Lascano was very memorable to him. When he is a grade one student, his teacher was Mrs. Rayosa, his terror teacher. When he was in grade two his teacher was Mrs. Arevalo but now, Mrs. Arevalo is already retired. On that time, his favorite song was leaving on a jet plane by Chantal Kreviazuk. Elementary life is very memorable to him because there were many memories happened in his life in this chapter. When he was a grade five student, he is very adventurous for going everywhere he wants with Romilyn, Mc, Angelique, Camilo and Edmark. When he turned on the last level of his elementary days, grade was the most memorable because he experience being a teenage. He fell in love with his friend. But he cannot tell his feelings to his friend because he is very shy. He also experience the life of being lonely when his mother traveled to Canada to work to support their financial needs because they were eight in the family and he will become a secondary student. He really enjoys the life of an elementary student. Until the graduation day comes. Their graduation song was “The Journey” by Miss Saigon Lea Salonga. Their class valedictorian was Leap Evereth U. Merana and their salutatorian was Shaila Jamil Alvarez, his elementary bestfriend. He received many awards like the Best in Attendance, Most Thrifty, a ribbon being a school mini band member and an Achiever award. He is very happy because he received many awards and his father was very proud of him. He promised to himself that when he turned high school, he will study hard to received more awards. He is already thirteen and he is a first year student of Balian National High School Balian, Pangil, Laguna. His teacher and adviser was Mrs. Cecilia V. Rayosa, a science teacher and his favorite teacher until now. I-Sampaguita is the name of their section. Their class president was Kathlyn Ilao. Mrs. Rayosa assigned him to join the 2005 Division Science Academic Camp held to their school. Though he do not won the contest, he was proud to represent their school. Their first honor was Leap Evereth again. And proudly to say, he was recognized as the top six in their class and an award of leadership from SSG for being the first year representative. On his sophomore year, he became more active than being a freshmen because he won many contest. He won first place in the Filipino Essay Writing Contest in their school. He competed many genius student from other year but he stand out the most. He also became the Editorial Writer of Ang Balani, their official school organ for winning that contest. This gave him the way to compete to the Division Secondary Schools Press Conference 2006 held at Dayap National High School Calauan, Laguna. He was very happy for winning tenth place although he has no privileged to compete at Regionals. He was recognized as the top five in their class II-Diamond. On junior year he became more active on competing contests. He compete for Essay Writing contest to the 2007 Environmental Science Camp at Calumpang National High School Nagcarlan, Laguna. He
- 2. didn’t won that contest but he was very happy. He also compete to the Division Science Academic Camp and he won third place. He also compete to the 2007 Division Secondary Schools Press Conference and he won 7th place on Photojournalism. This gave him way to compete to the Regional level held at Calamba City National High School. This time he did not win because there were many young journalists who were better than him. He competed to the Step Skills Competition in Fish Deboning but he did not win. He was recognized as the top five again of their class. This was the last year of his high school life. He met Jade Nicole S. Querol, Jomelyn Dela Cruz, Regine Aguilar and Ivan Demlier Rayela, his bestfriends. On this year, he competes to the Balagtasan Division Level and they won 3rd place. He is the judges’ favorite. He also competes to the 2008 Division Secondary Schools Press Conference held at Lumban National High School. He is the photojournalists of their school. He won 10th place so he has no opportunity to compete at the Regional Level. He also compete to the Philippine Science Olympiad held at Pedro Guevara Memorial National High School where their group won 2nd placer. He also compete to the Techno quiz of Division Step Skills Competition also held at the same school where he won 3 rd place. On their JS promenade, he joined the Grand Rigodon and his partner was Jade. Jade became their Ms. JS 2009. And the moment of truth came, the graduation was well prepared and he was very sad to say goodbye to his classmates and friends. Their graduation song was “Thanks to you” and “The Journey”. He cried to that moment and he promised that he will cherished it forever. He graduated 10 th honor for some reason. But he was still happy on that time. He is the happiest man on that moment.
