Auxiliaries are used to send signals to external effects units and provide foldback mixes to musicians. They allow a copy of the channel signal to be tapped and sent to an external device. Insert points break the channel signal path to process the signal through an external unit, returning it to the same point in the channel. - 12. Auxes & Inserts Pre Fade Sends When the auxiliary signal is taken before the fader it is known as a pre-fade send. Post Fade Sends When the aux signal is taken after the fader. This means that aux send level is affected by a change in the fader's level. Press for pre fade

Editor's Notes
- #13: On the master section, the AUX output, ("AUX SEND") solo button can be used to hear the "dry" sound. The AUX input, ("AUX RETURN") solo button can be used to hear the treated sound.
- #15: Most desks will have an auxiliary return section. This section of the desk is another set of balanced inputs which allow you to return the effected signal into the desk and route to the mix bus.
- #16: Most desks will have an auxiliary return section. This section of the desk is another set of line inputs which allow you to return the effected signal into the desk and route to the mix bus. Foldback A/B to send effects to headphones - example, vocalists like reverb in their headphones as it helps them to pitch and gets them in the mood. TRIM control to compensate for different input levels. This has a range of ±20dB.
