This document summarizes a study comparing the demographics of UFO abductees and ritual abuse survivors to the general population. It discusses how both groups emerged in the 1980s focusing on healing from supernatural victimization using techniques like hypnosis. Surveys of 55 UFO abductees and 51 ritual abuse survivors were conducted to examine their gender, age, race, marital status, education and occupation. Previous research suggested both groups would have a disproportionate number of highly educated white females from professional occupations compared to the general population. The challenges of surveying these groups and methods used are also described.
